Marotta: 'Alves surprise, not Bonucci'

Juventus director Beppe Marotta insists Leonardo Bonucci “did not leave because of Max Allegri,” but Dani Alves was “a bolt from the blue.”

The CEO sat down with Il Giornale for a lengthy interview, in which he also touched upon the big names who left this summer.

“Dani Alves was the real surprise, that was a bolt from the blue. He made a choice that seemed to be for Manchester City, then PSG turned up.

“There was a moment where we clashed, because I wanted the professional to show respect towards Juventus.”

Ghoulam contract details revealed?

Faouzi Ghoulam is poised to sign a new Napoli contract on wages of €3.5m a season, it is claimed.

The left-back, whose current deal expires next summer, is expected to miss most of the remainder of the season through injury after rupturing a cruciate ligament.

Napoli agree new Ghoulam deal?

According to Sportitalia, Napoli have agreed a new contract with Faouzi Ghoulam worth €4m per year with €45m release clause.

The Algeria international’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season.

Negotiations had been at an advanced stage when he sustained a serious knee injury, as the torn anterior cruciate ligament will put him out of action for approximately five months.

Manchester City, Juventus and Liverpool have all been heavily linked with a swoop for Ghoulam, despite the setback.
