Gasperini to be handed Palacio

The chances of seeing Rodrigo Palacio join Inter have increased after Gian Piero Gasperini took charge at San Siro.

The Argentine was already being linked with a move to the Nerazzurri and Gasperini, who replaced Leonardo as boss on Friday, is unlikely to object to his arrival.

Gasperini coached the South American at Marassi before the tactician was substituted at the helm by Davide Ballardini in the past campaign.

Talks between both clubs are yet to be finalised though after Goran Pandev refused to be involved in the deal.

Genoa reveal Criscito fee

Genoa chief Enrico Preziosi has revealed how much Domenico Criscito was sold to Zenit for, while he's made it clear that Rodrigo Palacio can leave too.

Criscito completed his switch to Russia today after the player failed to agree personal terms with Napoli.

"Criscito wanted to join Napoli, he really wanted to, but then there are economical aspects to take into consideration," Preziosi told Radio CRC.

"The boy wanted to leave and we decided to make him happy. We sold him to Zenit for €11m in the end."

Criscito 'accepts' Zenit switch

Domenico Criscito has reportedly shaken off his doubts and will complete the move to Zenit St Petersburg.

Genoa had agreed a fee with Napoli worth €12m, but the deal collapsed this week when the player failed to settle on personal terms.

Inter were also suggested as an option, but it seems that Criscito has accepted the move to Zenit.

He is set to sign a four-year contract worth €2m per season.

Criscito: Napoli, Zenit or Inter

Domenico Criscito's agent denied the Napoli move collapsed due to money, but reports now push him from Zenit to Gian Piero Gasperini's Inter.

Genoa had agreed a fee with Napoli, but the failure to find a deal on personal terms saw the defender back on the market.

“A professional evaluates every aspect of a club before making a move,” agent Claudio Pasqualin told Radio Kiss Kiss.

Criscito to Napoli still possible

Domenico Criscito could still complete a transfer from Genoa to Napoli, his representative has underlined.

It seemed as if the move was off after Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis yesterday suggested that the Neapolitan wouldn't sign for his hometown club.

"The President's words surprised me," noted agent Alessandro D'Amico. "The negotiations have certainly not ended.

"Talks are going brilliantly between myself and Napoli sporting director Riccardo Bigon," he continued.

'Criscito agrees Zenit move'

Domenico Criscito's move to Napoli has collapsed after the Genoa man agreed to join Russian giants Zenit, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The defender's agent maintained that he was still discussing personal terms with the Azzurri, but it seems that Luciano Spalletti's side have now hijacked the move.

The Italian international has reportedly signed a four-year contract with Zenit.

The latter reignited their interest in the World Cup player, 24, after they failed in an attempt to net him during the January transfer window.

Genoa cool Silvestre link

Genoa have distanced themselves from reports that they are planning an imminent bid for Matias Silvestre of Catania.

"It's true that there was contact between us and Catania director Pietro Lo Monaco," Genoa sporting director Stefano Capozucca told Itasportpress.

"However, there is nothing to report really, especially as our defensive department is quite full at the moment.

"In all honesty, our priority at the minute is to strengthen in other areas of the team."
