Both players had to be substituted in yesterday’s 1-0 loss to Sassuolo, with the changes coming within three minutes of each other.

Spalletti: I feel at home!

Luciano Spalletti has revealed that “I feel like I’m at home, on the sofa with so many Inter fans” and described Miranda as “a true leader”.

Spalletti has led Inter to the top of Serie A after 12 wins and no defeats in his first 15 games at the helm, and the Coach will be able to call on Miranda again for the clash with Juventus this weekend after serving a one-match ban.

Miranda: Skriniar one of the best

Miranda believes Inter teammate Milan Skriniar “could be among the top five defenders in the world, if not his generation.”

Skriniar’s performances for Inter at the back have played a key role in the Nerazzurri’s rise to second in Serie A, and Miranda revealed how ‘easy’ it was to play alongside the former Sampdoria stopper.

“I think we can fight for the Scudetto, but we have to think about Torino first,” he told Inter’s official website.

Miranda: ‘I’ll finish my career in Europe’

Inter defender Joao Miranda says “my idea is to finish my career in Europe”, even if he’d like to play for Sao Paulo again.

The centre-back joined the Nerazzurri from Atletico Madrid in 2015, and at the age of 33 could finish his career with the club.

“I always watch Sao Paulo’s matches and I’m keen to wear that shirt again,” Miranda told Desimpesidos.

“It’s different now though, at the moment I’m Joao Miranda, the Inter player, and Sao Paulo have quality players.

New deals for Inter pair?

Inter pair Samir Handanovic and Miranda are reportedly close to signing new contracts.

According to Tuttosport, Handanovic is expected to put pen to paper until 2021, by which point the goalkeeper will have almost turned 37.

Furthermore, Miranda could extend his Inter deal until a year earlier than the Slovene, in a sign that the Nerazzurri will keep counting on the 32-year-old at centre-back.

The duo have played key roles in Inter’s unbeaten start to the season, which sees them third in Serie A, two points behind Napoli and Juventus.

“It’ll be a good match against a strong team, who like to play with the ball a lot. We want to do well,” he told Inter Channel ahead of Sunday’s friendly against Villarreal.
