Moratti: 'Mourinho regrets Inter exit'

Massimo Moratti reveals Jose Mourinho “regretted” leaving Inter for Real Madrid before he’d even made the move blames stars for the 2002 Scudetto defeat.

The former Nerazzurri patron spoke at the presentation of a new book on his 20 years at the club.

“I don’t miss Inter, because I never left it. I returned to being what I was before, in other words a fan, whether at the stadium or in front of the television. I am happy with the way things are going right now.”

Cairo reveals Belotti-Madrid chat

Torino President Urbano Cairo reveals he discussed Andrea Belotti’s €100m release clause with Real Madrid counterpart Florentino Perez.

Belotti ended up staying at Torino last summer after no-one offered the €100m needed to buy out the striker’s contract, and Cairo claims Madrid played a role in keeping him at the Granata.

“Belotti’s an exceptional guy and loved by everyone,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Real Madrid job for Galliani?

Former Milan CEO Adriano Galliani could be back in the football world by joining the Board of Directors at Real Madrid, it’s reported.

He was in charge of the day-to-day running of the Rossoneri for over 30 years before President Silvio Berlusconi sold the club to Chinese investor Yonghong Li in April.

According to Mundo Deportivo and La Stampa newspaper, Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has proposed a new role for 73-year-old Galliani in the Board of Directors.

Madrid-Milan €60m for James, but...

According to Spanish reports, Real Madrid accepted Milan’s €60m bid for James Rodriguez, but the player is determined to join Manchester United.

The Colombia international wasn’t even given a spot on the bench in the Champions League Final against Juventus, confirming his desire to leave in order to get more playing time.

According to Don Balon, Real Madrid President Florentino Perez told Milan he’s prepared to accept the €60m offer on the table.

This would be a significant discount from the original €70m asking price.

Real Madrid President Florentino Perez says they will “give our souls until the last second” to beat Juventus.

In just under two weeks the teams face off in the Champions League final in Cardiff, with Los Blancos looking to become the first team to retain the competition in its current format.

Former Milan CEO Adriano Galliani was offered the role of new technical director at Real Madrid, claim Mundo Deportivo.
