Liverpool have reportedly started targeting Juventus target Teun Koopmeiners as they look to reunite the midfielder with their next coach Arne Slot.

Jurgen Klopp is ready to leave the Reds at the end of this season, having grown burnt out following a nine-year spell in Merseyside, and the club have decided to appoint Slot as their next head coach. All that’s needed now is an agreement with Feyenoord ahead of the summer.

Koopmeiners has continued to shine with Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta this term, netting 14 goals and providing six assists across 44 appearances, attracting the attention of various clubs including Juventus, Manchester United and now Liverpool.

Liverpool on Koopmeiners

Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com details how Liverpool have started to seriously weigh up a summer move for Koopmeiners as they look for reinforcements for incoming coach Slot.

The pair spent a season together at AZ Alkmaar in the 2019-20 campaign, where the midfielder scored 16 goals in 42 matches. Atalanta value the 26-year-old at around €60m, a price that’s more accessible to the Reds than to the long-interested Juventus.
