Chelsea raise Sanchez stakes

Reports in Italy suggest Chelsea remain undeterred by Udinese's desire to keep Alexis Sanchez at least until the end of the season.

Earlier this week Udinese owner Giampaolo Pozzo told reporters that while there has been interest from Inter and Chelsea, it isn't the club's intention to sell.

However, La Stampa claim Chelsea have made a cash offer worth €26m in order to sign the player before the January transfer window closes.

Del Neri backs Floro Flores move

Juventus boss Gigi Del Neri has given his backing to Antonio Floro Flores' proposed move to Turin.

The Udinese striker is expected to arrive on a six-month loan later today amid great scepticism.

Asked for his reaction to the news, Del Neri said: "They also gave me up for being unsuited [to the club].

"They said that I wasn't worthy of Juve before I arrived here.

"If Floro Flores does come, I hope he shows the opposite [to what everyone is saying]."

Udinese rule out Sanchez sale

Udinese owner Giampaolo Pozzo has ruled out the prospect of Alexis Sanchez leaving the club in January.

The Chile international playmaker has been strongly linked both with Chelsea and Inter.

Speaking on Gr Parlamento, Pozzo said: "There has been interest from Inter, but it's useless to speak about something that can't happen.

"We can't deprive ourselves of a toy in the middle of the season and with the Coppa Italia still to play for."

Report: Floro Flores chooses Genoa

There are strong reports Antonio Floro Flores has agreed a move to Genoa, therefore snubbing Juventus.

The 27-year-old Udinese forward had been named as a target by Bianconeri boss Gigi Del Neri.

However, Genoa were also interested and according to the latest reports from Sky Sport Italia, they have struck a deal for the loan with option to buy for €10m.

“At this moment the player is talking to Juve and Genoa, but I don't know what the developments will be,” agent Paolo Palermo told Pianetagenoa1893 earlier this evening.

Floro Flores and Marotta-nomics

Antonio Floro Flores looks on the brink of making a surprise move to Juventus. James Horncastle breaks down the detail

Antonio Floro Flores was in tears. He had made his debut as a second half substitute, replacing a worn out Simone Pepe in the 73rd minute of a tricky away fixture. Before the game, no one really expected all that much of the lithe young forward with the South American feet, but deep into stoppage time, he worked himself free in the box and put away a cross from Giorgio Chiellini to give his side a precious victory. Among the first players to congratulate him was none other than Alberto Aquilani.

Safety first, says Handanovic

Udinese may be as high as eighth in the standings but Samir Handanovic insists that avoiding relegation is the club's top priority.

The Bianconeri have recovered from a terrible start to the season, which saw them lose their first four games, to collect 27 points so far.

Although the club are on the verge of the European places, the goalkeeper continues to look over his shoulder.

"Our first objective is to get to 40 points as soon as possible," said the net-minder. "We can't afford to relax.

The London club are said to be willing to offer €25m for the versatile attacker who can play out wide, as a trequartista or as a second striker.

Juventus to tempt Di Natale again

Juventus will try and tempt Antonio Di Natale away from Udinese again, according to Il Corriere dello Sport, although his agent has rejected the idea.

Last year's Capocannoniere turned down the Old Lady in the summer, underlining his commitment to the Friulian club.

Earlier this week, Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta revealed his intention to find a substitute for Fabio Quagliarella in light of his season-ending knee injury.

Back in June, Juventus had agreed a transfer with Udinese, which was said to be worth €5.5m for Di Natale.
