OFFICIAL: Godin signs with Cagliari

Cagliari have officially announced Diego Godin’s arrival from Inter and have signed a three-year deal with the defender.

“Cagliari Calcio are pleased to announce the signing of Diego Godin from Inter,” the statement read.

“The Uruguayan defender has signed an agreement that ties him to the Rossoblu until June 30, 2023.”

Report: Salcedo returns to Verona

Hellas Verona are reportedly on the verge of bringing Eddie Salcedo back to the Bentegoi, having reached an agreement with Inter.

The striker played 17 games for the Gialloblu last term and scored once for Ivan Juric’s side and Sky Sport Italia reports he will return on loan for 2020-21.

Verona have reportedly reached an agreement for a loan with an option to buy and a buy-back clause in favour of the Nerazzurri.

Roma: Fienga suspended for 30 days

CEO Guido Fienda has been suspended for 30 days and Roma have been fined €7,000 for breaking the anti-COVID protocol against Napoli last season.

The National Federal Court issued the sentence for Napoli’s accusations from the match between the two sides last season.

Report: Lyon talks ongoing for Paqueta

Olympique Lyonnais continue to chase Milan midfielder Lucas Paqueta, and the two clubs are reportedly still in talks over a move for the midfielder.

Tuttomercatoweb claims the Rossoneri are working to offload the Brazilian midfielder, hoping to reinvest the cash in new signings this summer.

The report claims talks are ongoing with the Ligue 1 side, who are interested in the former Flamengo star.

The 23-year-old moved to San Siro for €38.4m in January 2019 and has contributed one goal and three assists in his 44 competitive games for the Diavolo.

Immobile: 'Lewandowski is my role model'

Lazio forward Ciro Immobile said ‘it’s incredible to have scored more goals’ than his 'role model' Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich.

Immobile, who scored 36 League goals for Lazio in 2019-20, finished above every other striker and therefore picked up the European Golden Boot.

“To win the Gold Boot makes me very proud,” Immobile told German newspaper Bild. “Lewandowski has always been a role model for me.

“If I could vote for the Ballon d’Or, I would give him my vote.”

Pjaca: 'Genoa can have a great season'

Marko Pjaca believes Genoa can have a ‘beautiful and great season’ under coach Rolando Maran, after having started with a 4-1 win against Crotone.

The Croatian joined the Rossoblu on loan from Juventus this summer and scored in his first competitive game for the Grifoni.
