A bizarre Marten de Roon own goal and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic rocket had put Lazio 2-0 up after just 11 minutes, but their 21-round Serie A unbeaten run was ended by Robin Gosens, Ruslan Malinovskyi and Jose Luis Palomino.

Papu Gomez maintains ‘anything can happen’ in the Champions League for Atalanta, especially in a Final Eight tournament on neutral turf.

UEFA’s plan at the moment is to condense the remaining rounds into a showdown between the quarter-finalists, clashing in one-off games until the Final.

All these are likely to be played in one city, with Lisbon the current favourite, after the COVID-19 pandemic has eased in August.

Gomez is one of them, seemingly opting for a number zero all over, in a drastic change from his usual short-back-and-sides.

“So many have criticised my hair that I decided to give it a cut,” he captioned his bald head, referring to the mixed reception of his bleached look.
