Atalanta have confirmed their decision to purchase Charles De Ketelaere, allowing Milan to avoid making any losses on the Belgian talent.

The Rossoneri initially signed the 23-year-old from Club Brugge in August 2022 in a deal worth €36.5m, an investment reflective of his incredible potential during his time in the Jupiler Pro League. He failed to impress in his debut season, providing just one assist across 40 appearances.

Milan shipped De Ketelaere out to Atalanta last summer on a €3m loan deal with a permanence option attached, worth €22.06m. He has shined under Gian Piero Gasperini, scoring 11 goals and providing nine assists across 44 games.

Calcio e Finanza details how Atalanta have confirmed their decision to purchase De Ketelaere for Milan, guaranteeing the Belgian talent’s foreseeable future in Bergamo.

Due to the nature of the deal, the Rossoneri will avoid making any losses on the 23-year-old, earning capital gains of around €90,000. The player’s net value in June 2023, based on amortisation, was €29,288,889 and at the end of next month will be €21.97m.
