Cagliari-Milan: predicted line-ups

Milan are without six players for this evening’s clash against Cagliari, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic is expected to start his first Serie A game since November.

The Swede picked up a muscle injury against Napoli on November 22 and will start his first Serie A game since.

Theo Hernandez and Hakan Calhanoglu have tested positive for COVID and Diogo Dalot is expected to replace the French left-back, while Brahim Diaz should start behind the sole striker Ibrahimovic.

Jens Petter Hauge will start in place of the suspended Rafael Leao as the left winger.

The 34-year-old underwent successful medical tests at Milan’s La Madonnina Clinic this morning and will sign a six-month contract with the Serie A giants upon the return of Milan’s directors from Cagliari tomorrow.

Mario Mandzukic has begun his medical tests ahead of completing a move to Milan.

The former Juventus striker landed in Italy on Sunday evening and begun his medical examinations with the Rossoneri early on Monday morning.

According to several reports in Italy, the Croat will sign a six-month contract with an option to extend his stay at the club for one more season.

Tomori to Milan ‘a done deal’

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Fikayo Tomori’s loan move to Milan is a done deal as the Rossoneri have accepted Chelsea’s conditions for the defender’s transfer.

The 23-year-old is expected to join the Serie A leaders on loan until the end of the season and Milan will have an option to make his move permanent for €30m next summer.

The Rossoneri tried to lower the fee, but Chelsea insisted the deal could only be finalised by including a high option to buy.

Mandzukic arrives for Milan

Mario Mandzukic has landed in Italy and will have his medical with Milan tomorrow before signing the contract.

The Croatia international arrived at Linate Airport in a private jet this evening, where he was greeted by reporters.

He was immediately whisked away to a hotel, where he can rest up before having his medical tests tomorrow morning.

The former Juventus striker is a free agent after his experience at Al-Duhail in Qatar.

Mandzukic is expected to sign a six-month contract, with option to extend for a further season.
