Ibra still banned for Milan derby

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's three-match ban has been reduced on appeal, but he'll still miss the Milan derby.

The Rossoneri lodged a formal appeal after the striker was sent off for jabbing Bari defender Marco Rossi in the ribs.

The Disciplinary Commission did accept it was not a particularly violent gesture, but the three-match ban has been reduced to two.

This still means Ibrahimovic is suspended for the next Serie A game – the Derby della Madonnina against Inter.

That Scudetto showdown is on Saturday April 2.

Ganso sparks Milan derby

Santos' Brazil international starlet Paulo Henrique Ganso has set off a bidding war between Milan and Inter.

The 21-year-old playmaker is widely regarded as the most creative talent of his generation and wants a move to Europe.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ganso said: "Yes, Robinho has told me something [about Milan], but so have Pato and Thiago Silva.

"At times we joke about it. They tell me that Milan is a fantastic club, with great infrastructure, that Italian football is quite strong and the marking is tight.

Pato still hears from Leo

Milan striker Alexandre Pato says he still hears from Leonardo even after his decision to take charge of rivals Inter.

The Brazilian pair have a strong relationship. Leonardo was instrumental in bringing Pato to Italy from Internacional in 2007.

Speaking ahead of the Derby della Madonnina, Pato said: "There are still many days left until April 2. The ankle is better. I hope to play against Inter.

"The fans should be calm. We are still top of the League ahead of Inter.

Balzaretti staying at Palermo

Palermo have rejected claims that Federico Balzaretti will be joining Milan at the end of the season.

Parma stopper Cristian Zaccardo stated yesterday that a mutual friend had told him that Balzaretti is set for a San Siro switch.

However, Rosanero chief Maurizio Zamparini has rejected such talk on Thursday.

"You'll have to ask Zaccardo who told him that," Zampa stated. "It certainly wasn't me.

"I'm not selling him and I actually hope that Balzaretti can conclude his playing days here with us in Palermo.

Ancelotti won't mirror Leonardo

Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that he could never betray Milan by one day taking charge of city rivals Inter.

The Chelsea boss has been talked about as a possible Nerazzurri Coach of the future, but he claims he wouldn't be able to do what Leonardo has done recently.

"If Inter President Massimo Moratti did call me in the future then I would, politely, decline the offer," he told Italian newspaper Il Giorno.

Ronaldo tips Inter for derby win

Brazilian legend Ronaldo has tipped Inter to beat Milan in the Derby della Madonnina on April 4.

The 34-year-old, who retired in February, played for both clubs in his fabulous career.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ronaldo said: "The derby is the derby, a game in itself."

Pressed to pick a winner, he replied: "OK, I believe Inter [will do it] because they have found their own style of play again, but above all because of their confidence.

"I see a more confident Inter than Milan, and this can count."

Berlusconi on Ibra and Balotelli

Piersilvio Berlusconi, son of the Milan President, felt Zlatan Ibrahimovic's ban was excessive and notes Mario Balotelli would be “a good signing.”

The Rossoneri only have a two-point lead over Inter going into next Saturday's Derby della Madonnina.

Ibrahimovic probably won't be there, although Milan have lodged an appeal against his three-match ban for punching Bari defender Marco Rossi in the ribs.

Moratti tells Milan to pipe down

Inter President Massimo Moratti is fed up with Milan complaining about the goal Giampaolo Pazzini scored against Lecce at the weekend.

Milan feel Pazzini used his arm to bring the ball down and that it should have been ruled out, which might have led the game to finish in a 0-0 draw.

Last week, Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a potentially match-winning goal disallowed against Bari for using his arm and Milan feel that they are being hard done by.
