Dawson: 'Milan forced Spurs back'

Tottenham stars Michael Dawson and Peter Crouch acknowledge Milan “forced us to sit back” in a tense second leg.

Spurs are notorious for their attacking approach and had won all their Champions League home games, but were fortunate to escape with a goalless draw at White Hart Lane, beating the Rossoneri 1-0 on aggregate.

“Winning ugly? Definitely. The first half performance was back to walls, but we worked our socks off. Same in the second half. Look at it now, it's rocking,” Dawson told ITV.

Don't believe the tripe

Ahead of Milan's visit to White Hart Lane, Scott Fleming questions the prevailing attitude towards Zlatan Ibrahimovic

To my eternal shame, on those grim Saturday nights when there's no Serie A to watch, I sometimes find myself taking in an episode of the X Factor.

I don't pass comment on who should win the thing however, partly because I couldn't care less which bland and generic act wins the chance to pollute my ears, but mostly because it would be ludicrous to express a strong opinion on a contest I've only seen snippets of.

“Over two legs Tottenham had one shot on goal and scored. The best team doesn't always win.

Milan had by far the better chances and possession, but couldn't overturn their 1-0 first leg defeat against Tottenham.

“It is tough to go out like this after dominating the game and doing so well,” said ‘The Duck.'

“What we needed was a goal and we didn't get it. We played well, but without the scoreline, it's all irrelevant in the end.

Berlusconi opens door to Kaka

Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi says it would be "great news" if Real Madrid playmaker Ricky Kaka were to return to the club.

Last week Kaka's father Bosco encouraged Milan to bring his son back to San Siro after an injury-blighted 18 months in Spain.

Quoted in Tuttosport after a trip to the dentist, Berlusconi apparently said: "If Kaka were to return, it would be great news.

"I don't think a return is possible. Not right now. But if he were to return it would really be great news for Milan and for all the fans."
