Atalanta given San Siro green light?

Milan have finally given Atalanta the green light to play their Champions League home games at San Siro, according to reports.

Inter and Milan’s city council had both already approved of Atalanta’s request, but the Rossoneri were hesitating.

However, Calciomercato.com, Goal.com and Calcio e Finanza all state the Diavolo have now followed suit.

The Orobici made the request as their stadium is currently being renovated to meet UEFA standards.

Milan in Pezzella talks?

Milan have reportedly held talks over a possible deal for Fiorentina defender German Pezzella.

According to Milan News, agent Martin Guastadisegno discussed Pezzella during a meeting with Rossoneri officials on Wednesday.

However, the website warns Fiorentina value the Argentina international at €20m.

The 27-year-old has been a regular for the Viola since arriving for Real Betis in 2017.

Milan are looking for defensive reinforcements after missing out on Ozan Kabak and being seemingly priced out of Liverpool’s Dejan Lovren.

Gilardino gets League job

Former Milan, Fiorentina and Italy striker Alberto Gilardino has been named the new Coach of Serie C side Pro Vercelli.

The managerial role marks Gilardino’s first with a League club.

The 37-year-old retired from football last September to focus on coaching and led Serie D outfit Rezzato to a fourth-place finish, although they lost 4-2 to Pro Sesto in the promotion playoffs.

Pro Vercelli, for their part, are one of Italy’s most successful teams, winning seven top-flight titles between 1908 and 1922.

Everybody loves Jordan

Jordan Veretout has become the hot property of the summer transfer window, something Fiorentina fan Giancarlo Rinaldi was really not expecting.

If you asked Fiorentina fans who the most transfer-tempting player in their possession was last season, not many would have put his name top of the list. The majority might have suggested the most obvious - Federico Chiesa - a souped-up Ferrari of a footballer. Others could have pointed you in the direction of their bulldozing defensive 4x4 - Nikola Milenkovic. Few were likely to have taken you towards Jordan Veretout - the reliable but rather unspectacular people-carrier at the back of the showroom.

'Only details between Bennacer & Milan'

Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi assures only ‘details’ separate Milan and Ismael Bennacer, who would be ‘foolish’ not to make the move.

Links between Bennacer and Milan have gone quiet since it was reported they had agreed a deal for the midfielder, but Corsi is still expecting the transfer go through.

“Something’s still missing between his representatives and Milan, but I don’t think it’s anything big,” he told Calciomercato.com.
