New San Siro plans submitted

Milan and Inter have officially submitted joint-plans for a new, 60,000-seater stadium to replace San Siro.

The two clubs confirmed last month that they were in agreement over demolishing San Siro and building a new venue adjacent to the ‘Scala del Calcio’.

That has now been followed by a ‘Technical and Economic Feasibility Study’, with Inter and Milan both promising over 3,500 new jobs and €1.2m of private investment.

Donnarumma ready for Milan

Gianluigi Donnarumma says he is ready to start the new season with Milan and use the disappointment of last term as ‘an extra push’.

Milan beat SPAL 3-2 in their final game of the previous campaign, but Donnarumma went off with injury and the Rossoneri ultimately failed to qualify for the Champions League.

That led some to speculate the goalkeeper had played his last match for the Diavolo, but he has now assured that his mind is set on staying put.

“It’s as I imagined it,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I’m starting a new life, but it’s like I’ve always been here. My idol has always been Xavi.

Silva 'happy' with Milan return

Andre Silva has expressed his delight at returning to Milan for preseason. “I’m happy to be back.”

Silva was one of Milan’s big-money signings in the summer of 2017, arriving from Porto in a €38m deal, but the striker scored just two Serie A goals in his first season.

A loan spell to Sevilla followed last term, but they did not take up their €35m option to buy and the 23-year-old looks to have been given a second chance by the Rossoneri.
