Menez: 'I'd lost passion for football'

Jeremy Menez admits he had ‘lost my passion for football,’ but rediscovered it with a move to newly-promoted Serie B side Reggina.

The 33-year-old former Roma and Milan attacking winger had played in Italy, France, Turkey and Mexico in recent years, but signed a surprise two-year deal with Reggina just weeks after their promotion from Serie C.

“I am here to win the Serie B title and take Reggina into Serie A,” said Menez in his presentation press conference today.

Serie A Week 28 referees

Referees for the Week 28 Serie A fixtures have been confirmed, with Piero Giacomelli given Milan-Roma tomorrow.

Giacomelli has officiated 13 games this season, dishing out 50 yellow cards and showing one red, with one win for Roma and one defeat for Milan.

Elsewhere, Michael Fabbri will be the man in the middle for Lazio-Fiorentina this evening.

Fabio Maresca is entrusted with Inter’s trip to Parma, Napoli’s visit of SPAL is at the discretion of Luca Pairetto and Marco Di Bello is the referee for Udinese-Atalanta.

Kjaer: 'Living Milan dream'

Simon Kjaer says he is living the ‘dream’ at Milan after ‘years of chasing it’ and has ‘never seen someone with as much hunger’ as Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Kjaer struggled for game time at Atalanta in the first half of the season and joined Milan in January, going on to establish himself as Alessio Romagnoli’s default centre-back partner.

“The knee’s fine, I feel better with each day,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

Milan handed Ibra boost

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has handed Milan a timely boost by returning to training today, while defender Simon Kjaer can face Roma.

Ibrahimovic has been nursing a calf injury for the past month, but he was seen training normally with his teammates on Friday.

However, the 38-year-old is unlikely to make an appearance against Roma on Sunday, having only just recovered from his setback.
