Shoulder injury for Orsolini

Bologna winger Riccardo Orsolini is out of Italy’s U21 European Championship clash with Belgium after suffering a shoulder subluxation.

The Azzurrini player came off at half-time during last night’s 1-0 defeat to Poland, but revealed to Sky Sport Italia he’d been playing through the pain.

“I got hurt 10 minutes in, but eventually it got too bad,” he told reporters with his arm in a sling.

Azzurrini still offer hope for Italy

Football Italia Chief Correspondent Richard Hall maintains Italy’s U21 future is bright, regardless of their defeat to Poland.

The Stadio Dall’Ara in Bologna had been raucous and in the end infectious for the Azzurrini, as they came from behind to beat a good Spanish team by 3-1 in the first game of the Under-21 European Championship. As they stepped on to the same field to face Poland, they did it with the knowledge that their former opponents had beaten Belgium hours before. This meant that a win would see Italy go through to the next round, so could they do it with the same style?

U21 Euro: Italy must win and wait

Italy must beat Belgium and hope for the best from Spain, potentially having to wait until Monday, if they are to reach the European U21 Championship semi-final.

The Azzurrini beat Spain 3-1, but lost 1-0 to Poland this evening, leaving them on three points with the Spaniards, while the Polish outfit have six.

Now Italy must beat already-eliminated Belgium on Saturday, but that might not be enough.

Inter give Lukaku new lease of life

Antonio Conte has tried to sign Romelu Lukaku for years and could finally get him at Inter, writes Football Italia Chief Correspondent Richard Hall.

Romelu Lukaku couldn’t make his intentions of moving to Serie A any more obvious. After claiming this was a league he had always dreamed of playing in, he went on to say it will be an exciting place to be next term. Heaping praise on Antonio Conte as “one of the best coaches in the world,” the Belgian forward has certainly laid down his marker that he expects to be in Milan next season. How would he fit in the new Nerazzurri system and would he be able to replace Mauro Icardi?

Martinez: 'Lukaku has to move'

Belgium Coach Roberto Martinez warns “it’s clear Romelu Lukaku needs to leave Manchester United,” as Inter continue negotiations.

“It’s clear that Romelu Lukaku needs to leave Manchester United. It would be good for both parties,” Martinez told HLN Sport in Belgium.

“It’s now up to Rom to find the right club.”
