Pazzo emotions run high

Giampaolo Pazzini says he will be emotional on his return to Sampdoria this weekend when Inter travel to Marassi.

The Italy international striker played his best football in a two-year spell with the Blucerchiati.

He left Sampdoria unexpectedly during the January transfer window.

Interviewed by Il Corriere Mercantile, Pazzini said: "It will be a very special game for me.

"I spent two splendid years in Genova. As soon as I arrive at the stadium on the bus, the emotion will be big.

"I won't celebrate if I score.

Ranocchia out for several weeks

Tests have confirmed Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia will be out for several weeks, but it is not as serious an injury as originally feared.

The former Genoa man was stretchered off during the 1-0 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich and was concerned, as he spent a large chunk of last term out with a left knee injury.

“The tests confirmed the latest reports, a strain of the internal collateral ligament in the left knee,” read a statement on the club website.

“The recovery time has not been suggested.”

Moratti: 'We can win in Munich'

Inter President Massimo Moratti shared Leonardo's decisions against Bayern and is optimistic about a victory in Munich.

“I'd say it was a good game that could've ended with any result, but it finished with the worst, as Inter had some great chances,” he said of last night's 1-0 home Champions League defeat.

Milito: Inter must respect Bayern

The hero of last year's Champions League Final Diego Milito believes Inter must respect Bayern Munich when they meet this evening.

The Argentina international striker scored a brace of goals at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid to end a 45-year drought in Europe's elite club competition last May.

He will be conspicuous by his absence at San Siro tonight after being ravaged by injury yet again this season.

"Leonardo has given us the consciousness to be a strong group and I believe that this has been fundamental," Milito said.

Schweini more scared of Milan

Bayern Munich talisman Bastian Schweinsteiger admits that he considered joining Inter, but remains more afraid of their rivals Milan.

The 26-year-old Germany international was out of contract last summer, but signed a new five-year deal, which ill keep him at the Allianz Arena until 2016.

Inter were one of the teams interested in luring Schweinsteiger away from Bayern, particularly off the back of his excellent performances at the World Cup in South Africa.

However, the transfer never materialised.

Mou: I'd pay to see Real-Inter Final

Jose Mourinho says he would pay to see either Inter or Chelsea face Real Madrid in the Champions League Final at Wembley in May.

The Special One is emotionally tied to both his former clubs and never makes any secret of where his supports lies.

He led Inter to a historic treble last season and rarely misses an opportunity to underline how much he cares for the Italian side.

Speaking after last night's 1-1 draw with Lyon, he said: "I would pay to be in the Champions League Final at Wembley with either Inter or Chelsea."

Sacchi gives Leonardo advice

Arrigo Sacchi has given Inter Coach Leonardo advice on how to beat Bayern Munich this evening. “Their defence suffers with pace.”

This evening the two teams go head-to-head for the Champions League knockout round and it is a repeat of last season's Final.

“Leonardo is doing great work in terms of psychology, technique and empathy, but the organisation and style of the football are still to be defined,” former Milan and Italy boss Sacchi wrote in the Gazzetta dello Sport.

Leonardo: 'It's still wide open'

Leonardo forgives Julio Cesar for his decisive mistake and maintains the Champions League is still “very balanced, so it's all wide open.”

Inter fell to a surprise 1-0 home defeat against Bayern Munich when the goalkeeper spilled an Arjen Robben snapshot in the final minute for Mario Gomez to tap in.

“Julio Cesar has no need to apologise. There were many chances in this game and it's part of the sport. He parried it and the goal could've come in other moves, just as we had the opportunities to score.
