Pandev: 'Inter deliver when it counts'

Goran Pandev scored in the Club World Cup triumph and assures “when it really counts, Inter don't get it wrong.”

The Nerazzurri have stuttered all season since completing the Treble in May, but beat Mazembe 3-0 to become world champions.

“When it really counts, Inter don't get it wrong,” said the striker.

“I am happy for myself and all the players who are here and who were here, plus of course all of the fans.

Zanetti dedicates win to Samuel

Inter captain Javier Zanetti has dedicated the Club World Cup to injured teammate Walter Samuel.

“We dedicate this victory to Samuel, who we cannot wait to welcome back to the squad.”

Zanetti's fellow Argentine is out for the next six months after a devastating knee injury.

“This is the 15th trophy of my career and I am so happy to round off a fantastic year,” said the veteran.

“No Italian side has ever done what Inter have achieved in 2010 and all the Inter fans should be proud of this team.”

Moratti: '1960s memories live again'

Inter President Massimo Moratti has followed in the footsteps of his father. “The memories of those children of the 1960s live again.”

Angelo Moratti was the patron when the Nerazzurri won the European Cup and Intercontinental Cup over 40 years ago and now his son is at the helm.

“You can see the almost violent joy of everyone, especially those who had a father that was a part of that moment,” he said referring to the sons of Armando Picchi and Giacinto Facchetti.

CL draw: Inter set for Final re-play

Inter will play Bayern Munich in a re-play of last year's Final, Milan travel to London to face Tottenham and Roma brace the cold in Ukraine against Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Italian teams were among the first out of the hat and the draws for the last 16 of the Champions League whet the appetite.

Roma are perhaps the happiest of the Serie A representatives, although Shakhtar's European pedigree was illustrated two seasons ago when they won the UEFA Cup.

Moratti: 'Bayern out for revenge'

Massimo Moratti believes Bayern Munich will be out for revenge when they play Inter in the Last 16 of the Champions League.

Inter famously beat the German giants in last year's Final at the Santiago Bernabeu to end a lengthy drought in the competition.

"It's an interesting draw," Moratti said. "It will be a kind of sense of revenge for them. We need to see in what condition we'll go into that appointment.

"We have already faced Bayern many times. It's an historic game. But it's too soon to judge.

Benitez focused on Mazembe

Rafa Benitez is focusing on Saturday's Club World Cup Final against Mazembe rather than getting distracted by the Champions League draw.

Inter have been paired with Bayern Munich in the last 16, meaning a re-run of last year's Final at the Santiago Bernabeu is scheduled for February and March.

"I think that it will be interesting for the fans and for the protagonists on the pitch who played the Final in Madrid," Benitez said.

Zanetti wants Inter on top of world

Inter captain Javier Zanetti has made no secret of his desire to win the Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.

The Champions League holders take on surprise package TP Mazembe who knocked out Copa Libertadores winners Internacional in the Semi-Finals.

"We are only thinking about tomorrow," Zanetti said when asked about the Champions League draw, which pits Inter against Bayern Munich in a re-run of last season's Final at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid.

Sneijder out of Club World Cup Final

Reports in Italy suggest Wesley Sneijder will miss the Club World Cup Final on Saturday after picking up an injury against Seongnam last night.

The 26-year-old Holland international had to come off after just 30 minutes when he felt a strong pain in his left thigh muscle.

He will undergo a series of tests this morning, but Inter's medical staff believes he won't recover in the next 72 hours.

'Benitez has taken Inter back in hand'

Inter President Massimo Moratti believes last night's victory over Seongnam in the Club World Cup goes to show that Rafa Benitez is back on the right track.

The Nerazzurri ran out 3-0 winners in Abu Dhabi and booked their place in Saturday's Final against surprise package Mazembe who put out Copa Libertadores holders Internacional.

"It would have been awful to go out in the semi-final," Moratti explained. "We played an intelligent game and deserved the victory.

Sneijder: 'Win it for me, Inter!'

Wesley Sneijder won't be fit for the Club World Cup Final, but urged his Inter teammates to “win it for me too.”

The unlucky Dutchman only managed to play under a minute of football in Abu Dhabi, as straight away he limped off with a muscular problem during the 3-0 semi-final win over Seongnam.

“I am staying with the squad,” he told Inter Channel ahead of Saturday's Final against Mazembe.

“We played a great game and it's important for the club, our fans and all of us to bring this trophy back to Milan.
