Mourinho: Inter can do it

Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho believes his former club Inter can make it through to the semi-finals of the Champions League this evening.

The Nerazzurri have a mountain to climb in Gelsenkirchen and need to score at least four goals to book their place in the final four.

"If I know a team that has character, personality, strong friendship between the players and isn't afraid of complicated situations, this is Inter," Mourinho said.

"It's difficult to win 4-0, but we'll try.

Zanetti: 'We paid for mistakes'

“We knew it was going to be difficult, even if we didn't play the way we should've done,” Zanetti told Rai Sport.

Leonardo: 'I really did believe'

Leonardo insists he really did believe in an Inter comeback. “There is disappointment and that is difficult to control.”

The Nerazzurri had a mountain to climb after their 5-2 first leg defeat to Schalke, but also lost 2-1 in Germany to crash out of the Champions League quarter-final.

“I really did believe, because in the first half we took the initiative and controlled the game, but didn't have the opportunities to score,” said the Coach.

Ranocchia: 'Season is not over'

Andrea Ranocchia says the first leg dominated Inter's thoughts tonight, but “we won't sit back and relax for the rest of the season.”

“We were here to fight it out and gave it our all to score straight away, but we were unable to get the early goal and that changed a great deal.

Crespo to miss Inter reunion

Parma have suffered a blow to their survival hopes as Hernan Crespo looks set to miss Saturday's crucial match against Inter.

The veteran Argentine striker, who spent three seasons with Inter, has suffered a bad injury.

Crespo has apparently torn the flexor muscle in his left leg and has almost no chance of being fit in time.

The 35-year-old has scored nine goals for Parma this season.

Parma have lost their last two games in Serie A and continue to hover precariously above the drop zone.

Brazilian club Santos are unhappy with the recent courting of star player Paulo Henrique Ganso by both Inter and Milan.

Interviewed by Radio Estadao ESPN, Santos President Luis Alvaro Ribeiro outlined the club's stance.

Schalke target 'vulnerable Inter defence'

Schalke manager Ralf Rangnick insists his side won't defend the 5-2 first leg lead. “Inter's defence is vulnerable, so we'll play to win.”

“We will play to win,” said the Coach. “We know that we are facing a strong and well-constructed side, but Inter's defence is vulnerable.
