Falque: 'More football passion in Italy'

Torino forward Iago Falque insists that football is 'felt more passionately in Italy than Spain'.

The 27-year-old started life in the youth systems of Barcelona and Real Madrid, before joining the Juventus Primavera in 2008.

With this in mind, does he ever think about what could have been?

"No, because in the end football puts you where you deserve to be," Falque told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Ferrante: ‘Torino chaos shouldn’t happen’

Former Torino striker Marco Ferrante discusses the penalty argument between Iago Falque and Andrea Belotti - “in my day you’d never have seen that”.

There are three penalty takers for the Granata, and it was Falque who stepped-up and missed after an argument with the Italian international.

“In my day - and we’re not speaking about 60 years ago - you’d never have seen something like that,” Ferrante told Tuttosport.

Mihajlovic: 'Only Belotti takes penalties'

Sinisa Mihajlovic has lost patience with his misfiring Torino strikers after a 1-1 draw at Empoli. “From now on, Andrea Belotti takes the penalties.”

The Granata had taken the lead at the Stadio Castellani with a Belotti volley off the underside of the bar, but Manuel Pucciarelli – with the aid of a puddle – made the most of the Arlind Ajeti back-pass.

Iago Falque could’ve won it from the spot, but his penalty was parried by Lukasz Skorupski.

Falque: 'Torino ideal gift'

Iago Falque thanked Torino for buying him out early from Roma and welcomed new teammate Juan Manuel Iturbe. “He can give us so much.”

The winger was on loan with an option to buy, but the Granata activated the clause to buy him for €6m today rather than wait to the end of the season.

“This is a very special day for me,” Falque told Sky Sport Italia. “It is my birthday and Torino gave me the greatest gift by making my move permanent. I am very happy.

Official: Iturbe joins Torino

Torino have officially confirmed the signing of Juan Iturbe on loan from Roma, as well as the permanent signing of Iago Falque.

Iturbe had been linked with a move to the Granata for some time, and it was revealed this week that he’d arrive on loan as long as Toro took up their option on Falque.

Now the Turin club has confirmed both of those deals, with the former arriving on loan with an option to buy in the summer.

Torino close to Iturbe

Torino Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is reportedly 'close' to signing Roma winger Juan Manuel Iturbe in January.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, a deal has almost been completed between the two clubs, and is awaiting approval from the player once he returns from Paraguay.

The 23-year-old’s career has stalled since making the €24.5m move from Hellas Verona in 2014, and was sent out on loan to Bournemouth last term, where he made just two appearances.

Falque: ‘Roma can win Scudetto’

Torino winger Iago Falque believes Roma “have everything to win the Scudetto” but “it’s hard when Juventus never lose”.

The Spaniard is on loan from the Giallorossi, with Toro having the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

“Roma? From a personal point of view it was a very intense experience,” Falque admitted in an interview with Sky.

“The first few months were good, the others were difficult but I grew up a lot there too.

Torino or Genoa for Iturbe

Torino and Genoa are both interested in taking Juan Manuel Iturbe on loan from Roma in January.

The forward simply hasn’t taken any of the opportunities he was afforded to shine this season and Coach Luciano Spalletti is running out of patience.

Since joining Roma from Verona for €24.5m in 2014 the Paraguay international has scored just five goals with five assists in 68 competitive games.

According to the latest reports, 23-year-old Iturbe is expected to receive a loan to another Serie A side with option to buy.

Raging Toro

After decades in the shadow of their city cousins, the derby might be time for Torino to make a stand, writes Susy Campanale.

Torino made it clear this summer that they are no longer content to sit mid-table and churn out Italian talents only to sell them on at a profit. This club is historically one of the most important in Italy and has a large fan-base famously dominating the city of Turin, whereas the majority of Juventus fans reside in other parts of the country. It’s only right that they should be ambitious and the Derby della Mole can be a turning point.

The 26-year-old, who is on loan from Roma, scored a brace in the Granata's 2-1 win over Chievo at the weekend.

This result saw them placed sixth in the table, but how far can the club go with their young squad?
