Juventus 'positioned for sustainable future'

Holding company Exor “believe Juventus is well positioned for a more sustainable future” and “starts the next stage of its journey with a strong position in European football” after increasing revenue by 23%.

President John Elkann, one of the heirs to the Agnelli family that has owned Juventus since the early 20th Century, released a lengthy letter to investors today.

It included a message on Juventus, as Exor own 63.77 per cent of the football club.

UEFA asks Leagues to avoid rash decisions

The Federations are encouraged to avoid rash decisions in a letter from UEFA, the European Club Association and the European Leagues, revealing their plans to resume in July.

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin teamed up with ECA chairman Andrea Agnelli and European Leagues chief Lars-Christer Olsson and wrote a letter to the Federations, clubs and Leagues.

The letter has been posted after learning that the Jupiler Pro League in Belgium has assigned Club Brugge as winners and terminated early due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Agnelli rejects mid-season Scudetto?

Juventus President Andrea Agnelli has hinted that he will not accept the Scudetto based on current standings after ‘liking’ a Twitter post.

Juve lead the Serie A table by a point, picking up a total of 63 from 26 games before the season was postponed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Agnelli: 'Clubs face existential crisis'

Juventus President Andrea Agnelli has warned that European clubs “are faced with a real existential threat” by the coronavirus pandemic.

The 2019-20 European football season remains stuck in limbo as its countries lock down in a bid to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

With no football set to be played for the foreseeable future, Agnelli – in his role as European Club Association chief – admits this is the game’s “biggest challenge” to date.

Agnelli to Lotito: 'Are you a virologist now?'

Juventus President Andrea Agnelli and Lazio chief Claudio Lotito highlighted the tension between the Presidents during a meeting related to the possible conclusion of Serie A 2019-20.

The Coronavirus pandemic threatens to terminate the Serie A 2019-20 season entirely, but the Lazio boss Claudio Lotito still believes the season could be finished.

Serie A gathered the patrons to discuss the possibility of resuming the campaign and on one side, you could find an optimistic Lazio boss, believing that there’s still hope for the season to end on the pitch.

Official: Napoli return to training next week

Napoli have officially announced that the team is returning to training next Wednesday, despite the appeals of the AIC to wait until April.

The club announced late this evening that on Wednesday March 25 they will return to training at the Castel Volturno for a morning session.

President Aurelio De Laurentiis, along with Lazio patron Claudio Lotito were reportedly the only two sides in the Italian top flight that wanted to return their respective sides to training before the April 4 date.

FIFA and Agnelli family donate millions

The Agnelli family, who own Juventus and Ferrari among others, are donating €10m to help fight coronavirus, while FIFA pledge $10m to the cause.

The crisis has not only shut down all club football and most sport around the world, but also today forced the postponement to next June for Euro 2020 and the Copa America.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced that “thanks to its solid financial situation, FIFA is in a position to propose proactive solidarity measures specifically targeting the coronavirus disease crisis.

Pressure on Lotito to stop training

Pressure is growing on Claudio Lotito, who owns both Lazio and Serie B side Salernitana, after complaints he is trying to force players into training during the coronavirus pandemic.

The AIC (Players’ Association) released a statement this week warning they would take strong action if clubs tried to call players into training sessions or even to have their temperature checked rather than doing it themselves at home.
