Cairo: "Absurd, sport is for everyone"

Torino President Urbano Cairo has slammed the “absurd” timing of Juventus patron Andrea Agnelli and insisted that “there must be room for everyone”.

The Old Lady chief caused more controversy by suggesting that Atalanta shouldn’t have access to the Champions League “without international history and thanks to just one great season”.

Mayor prefers Atalanta to 'rich elite'

Mayor of Bergamo Giorgio Gori hit back at Juventus suggestions Atalanta don’t deserve to be in the Champions League. “I prefer them to the elite of the rich and famous. It’s called SPORT.”

Juve President Andrea Agnelli made the comments during the FT Business of Football Summit in London as part of his push for a European Super League.

Agnelli: 'I spoke to Zhang'

Juventus President Andrea Agnelli has encouraged the clubs to “follow” the authorities lead and revealed he discussed the situation with Inter patron Steven Zhang.

Juventus-Inter was postponed last weekend amid fear of the coronavirus outbreak in Italy, but the aftermath has been controversial and full of chaos.

The Old Lady chief has now claimed that his team was prepared to follow orders from the start.

Agnelli: 'Guardiola happy where he is'

Agnelli: 'We wanted Sarri'

Juventus President Andrea Agnelli picked Maurizio Sarri, finds it “fascinating” to see Antonio Conte at Inter and agrees that “public health” comes before football.

After a controversial weekend where four Serie A matches were postponed and therefore leave Inter six points behind the Old Lady in the table, has been followed by a discussion in the Italian government about postponing the upcoming fixtures.

The FIGC has written a letter to the government, asking to play the matches behind closed doors and the Juventus President concurs.

Sarri explained himself to the President

Coach Maurizio Sarri reportedly analysed the situation at Juventus during a dinner with President Andrea Agnelli and sporting director Fabio Paratici.

La Stampa reports that a meeting between the former Napoli and Chelsea coach and the club’s hierarchy took place after the teams second defeat in three matches last weekend.

A 2-1 defeat to Hellas Verona helped Inter gain valuable terrain in the Scudetto fight with a 4-2 win against Milan in the Derby della Madonnina.

Report: Juventus want Guardiola

Juventus will try to poach Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola to replace Maurizio Sarri next season, claim English reports.

According to The Sun newspaper, Bianconeri President Andrea Agnelli believes Guardiola is the ideal coach to take his club to the very top of the continental game.

It comes just hours after growing speculation in Italy that Sarri could be axed to bring back Max Allegri.

When looking back over the recent history of calcio, at which teams represented a decade best, you could, reasonably, assign it as follows: the 1980s could be shared between Juventus and Napoli, the 1990s viewed through the prism of Juve and Milan, the ‘00s belonged to Inter, and to a lesser extent the Rossoneri. The 2010s, well, there’s no argument.

Marchisio: 'My Juventus was stronger'

Claudio Marchisio discussed his lengthy career at Juventus, the differences working with various coaches and why the current Bianconeri midfield is "not at the level" of his team.

Marchisio gave a lengthy interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport in which he discussed his career.

Marchisio won seven Scudetti and four Coppa Italia titles in his 13-year career with The Old Lady. However at the beginning of the decade, the club hadn’t won anything other than a Serie B title since 2006.
