Nainggolan: ‘Milan will make Inter sweat’

Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan is “curious” about the derby with Milan, and is confident “they’ll make us sweat”.

The Nerazzurri face their city rivals on Sunday night for what will be the Belgian’s first Derby della Madonnina, having already experienced Roma vs Lazio.

“It’s good to prepare for all matches in the same way, but I’m curious for my first Milan derby,” Nainggolan told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Shevchenko: ‘Milan have serenity’

Andriy Shevchenko sees “serenity” at Milan after the change in ownership, and looks forward to the Derby della Madonnina against Inter.

The Rossoneri endured a turbulent year under the ownership of Yonghong Li, but Elliott Management forced the Chinese out and appointed Leonardo and Paolo Maldini to handle the football side.

“There’s great serenity now with the arrival of a new owner,” Shevchenko told Sky Italia.

Politano: ‘Inter must be perfect’

Matteo Politano believes Inter need “a perfect match” against Milan in the derby, but rates Mauro Icardi over Gonzalo Higuain.

The city rivals meet for the first time this season on Sunday night, with the Rossoneri looking to close a four point gap on Luciano Spalletti’s side.

“We need a perfect match,” Politano told SportMediaset.

“Milan are a strong team with strong players. We’ll try to play well and make the city proud of us.

Biglia: Thank you, Milan!

Lucas Biglia has thanked Milan for persisting with him but admitted that ‘we’ve lacked ruthlessness and suffering in so many games’.

Biglia was one of Milan’s 11 signings that amounted to over €200m in the summer of 2017 but only now has been able to establish himself in the Rossoneri’s midfield.

“We’re feeling good, we have an objective and we want to reach it,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

Bonucci backs Milan for derby

Leonardo Bonucci says he is ‘backing’ Milan to win next week’s Derby della Madonnina against Inter.

Bonucci only lasted a season at Milan as he re-joined Juventus over the summer, but the defender made it clear he valued his spell with the Rossoneri more than his stint as an Inter youth player.

“I hope to see a great game, but I’m backing Milan,” he continued at a Press conference for Italy’s Nations League match against Poland on Sunday.

“I left behind a good bunch of lads and a great Coach.”

Watford scout Milan derby

Reports in Italy suggest Watford will send scouts to the Derby della Madonnina, to assess Mateo Musacchio and Andrea Ranocchia.

The English club is owned by the Pozzo family, who also own Udinese, and frequently does transfer business in Italy.

According to FCInterNews, the Hornets will send scouts to the Inter-Milan game on October 21 as they look for a centre-back.

The names in the frame appear to be Musacchio of Milan and former Inter captain Ranocchia.
