The 28-year-old right-back has been in Madrid since 2018 and his current contract runs to June 2023.

“We are talking to Roma, Everton and PSG for Arias, but not Bayer Leverkusen,” director Berta told German site Kicker.

“It is possible we could release him on loan with obligation to buy once he has made 10 competitive appearances.”

Morata to Juventus imminent

Multiple reports in Italy and Spain suggest Luis Suarez will join Atletico Madrid, freeing Alvaro Morata for Juventus on loan with option to buy, as Arkadiusz Milik stalls Edin Dzeko.

The transfer merry-go-round of strikers is not going quite the way it was meant to only a few days ago, when Dzeko was heading to Juve for €15m thanks to Milik leaving Napoli for Roma at a cost of €18m plus bonuses.

Milik’s inability to agree personal terms of his exit from Napoli has destroyed that whole chain of events, so Plan B was put into action.

Inter mustn't let Godin go so easily

Letting Diego Godin go to Cagliari practically for free after just one year at San Siro could be a mistake for Inter, insists Richard Hall.

Even at 34 years of age, Diego Godin has a lot to offer. When Cagliari confirmed they were in negotiations for the Uruguayan, there were no protests at Inter’s training ground. It has been generally accepted that, at his age and with his excessive salary, the natural thing to do it so let him move on, yet there is a nagging doubt that Inter should either kept him for one more year, or at least try to renegotiate his contract. He was an important feature in the latter half of the season and perhaps his influence was underrated.

CEO Mario Passetti has confirmed Cagliari are in talks with Inter defender Diego Godin but admitted ‘it’s a difficult negotiation’.

The Uruguayan defender has been linked with the Rossoblu in recent days and sporting director Pierluigi Carta revealed Godin is interested in a move to Sardinia.

Reports have claimed Godin, who joined Inter as a free agent last summer from Atletico Madrid, could terminate his contract with the Nerazzurri or move on loan with an option to buy.

Suarez doubts put Juventus on edge

There are suggestions in Spain that Luis Suarez might not be leaving Barcelona after all, meaning Juventus must turn to a different target.

Suarez was told in a 90-second telephone call with new coach Ronald Koeman that he was not part of their plans for this season.

As his contract is due to expire in June 2021, he was asked to terminate it early by mutual consent.

Those negotiations have dragged on and seem no closer to a resolution, quite the opposite.
