Pirlo denies Pogba quotes

Andrea Pirlo denies giving an interview about Paul Pogba’s world-record return to Manchester United.

British media carried quotes from the New York City FC midfielder in which he said the Bianconeri were “still laughing” about taking the Frenchman for free and then selling him back for €105m.

However, the veteran has taken to Twitter to clarify the situation, insisting he never made the comments in question.

Pirlo: 'Juve's last laugh on Pogba'

Andrea Pirlo claims Juventus 'are still laughing' over the revenue they made by signing Paul Pogba and selling him back to Manchester United.

The Bianconeri picked up the Frenchman for €1m in 2012 and sold him back this summer for a record-shattering €105m plus bonuses.

Although there is some debate over how much exactly the Italians managed to profit from the move, former Juventus star Andrea Pirlo feels the amount is more than enough to gloat over.

Juninho: 'Pjanic heir to Pirlo'

Juninho Pernambucano says Juventus signing Miralem Pjanic is a free-kick specialist at the level of Cristiano Ronaldo, Leo Messi and Gareth Bale.

The two champions played together at Lyon, where one may expect the Bosnian to have learned a few tricks regarding dead-ball situations.

“Pjanic joined us when he was very young, but he already showed a great deal of talent and you could tell that he would have an important future,” Juninho told Tuttosport. “He had quality in taking free kicks, and now he's among the best.

Pirlo: ‘Balotelli, don’t go to China’

Andrea Pirlo urges Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli not to go to China as “he still has time to make it at the very top.”

The forward was one of the hottest properties in European football, but his career has stalled over the past two seasons.

Super Mario spent last season on loan at Milan, but injuries limited his contribution and the Rossoneri opted not to make the move permanent.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has made it clear that Balotelli is not part of his plans, leading to talk of a lucrative move to China.

Pjanic: ‘Pirlo an example’

Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic describes Andrea Pirlo as “an example” but “I won’t copy his game”.

After joining the Bianconeri from Roma, his creative midfield style has inevitably been compared to the veteran regista, but the Bosnian is looking to carve out his own niche.

“There’s a good understanding with the Coach [Max Allegri] for now,” Pjanic told reporters in his presentation Press conference.

Pirlo: ‘Italy omission painful’

Andrea Pirlo admits it was “painful” to miss out on Euro 2016, but insists Italy can win the whole thing.

The New York City FC midfielder was not included in Antonio Conte’s squad for the tournament, making it unlikely he’ll add to his 116 caps.

“I didn’t like being left-out, but I have to accept the decisions of the Coach,” Pirlo told Times of India.
