De Rossi, Pirlo risk Euro snub

New York City FC’s Andrea Pirlo and Daniele De Rossi of Roma risk a Euro 2016 snub from Italy CT Antonio Conte, say reports.

Corriere della Sera writes today that Pirlo and De Rossi are the two players who are most vulnerable to be excluded from Conte’s squad for the tournament in France next summer.

The newspaper reports that the two midfielders aren’t considered shoe-ins for the team anymore, and that they could be excluded in favour of younger players.

Montolivo ‘hopes Pirlo is with Italy’

Milan's Riccardo Montolivo says he ‘hopes Andrea Pirlo is part of the Italy team’ after the New York City FC player was snubbed by ntonio Conte.

Conte suggested yesterday that Pirlo’s time with the national team may be up, but Montolivo told the media today that ‘we are talking about an incredible player.’

The Azzurri face Belgium on Friday in Brussels for an international friendly.

Conte ‘considering Italy without Pirlo’

Antonio Conte says he will consider an Italy team with no Andrea Pirlo and looks ahead to a ‘fascinating challenge’ against Belgium.

The Azzurri travel to Brussels for the friendly on Friday against the team now ranked number one in the world.

Conte discussed his tactical ‘model’ with Italy and two players starring in MLS, Sebastian Giovinco and Pirlo.

Moratti: ‘Pirlo a good idea’

Former Inter President Massimo Moratti says the short-term signing of New York City FC’s Andrea Pirlo is ‘a very good idea’.

The Italy international was linked with a Nerazzurri return two days ago, during the MLS off-season between November and February.

Moratti was encouraged by the idea and also confirmed ‘I’m willing to sell my shares’ in the club.

Inter move for Pirlo?

Inter are being linked with a shock loan move for New York City FC’s Andrea Pirlo.

The midfielder moved to MLS after ending his four-year spell at Juventus this summer, having helped the Bianconeri to the Scudetto in each season.

The regular season in Major League Soccer runs March to October, so it’s common for players to have loan spells in Europe during the off-season.

According to SportMediaset, Inter Coach Roberto Mancini is keen on bringing Pirlo back to the Nerazzurri on a short-term loan, with his side lacking midfield creativity.
