Locatelli: Something special at Milan

Manuel Locatelli claims he and his fellow Milan youngsters can lead the Rossoneri to success in “the next 10 years” as “something special is brewing” at San Siro.

Locatelli has been a revelation for Milan since being given his first-team breakthrough by Vincenzo Montella, the 18-year-old midfielder most notably scoring against Juventus in a 1-0 victory for the Diavolo and being summoned to train with Italy’s senior squad.

Milan must create momentum

Vincenzo Montella had a great start as Milan Coach, but Chloe Beresford warns there’s more to success than the derby.

Italy: Locatelli in get-together

Giampiero Ventura has called up 22 players from Serie A and B for an Italy get-together, including Milan’s Manuel Locatelli and Atalanta’s Andrea Petagna.

The Coach wanted this ‘stage’ at the Coverciano training ground to get a better look at players who could receive full Italy call-ups in future, as there won’t be another match until 2017.

Naturally, these are all players who won’t be involved in European club football next week.

The squad will attend from Monday November 21 to Wednesday November 23.

Costacurta: ‘Milan, spend in January’

Alessandro Costacurta says Milan must spend in January to reach the Champions League, and discusses the Derby della Madonnina.

The Rossoneri are currently third in Serie A, which would mean Champions League qualification if they could maintain that position until the end of the season.

“It’s something positive and unexpected,” Costacurta admitted in an interview with MilanNews.

“There’s definitely been some luck in respect of certain incidents, but you need that too to get results. I see a well-organised team.
