Bernardeschi: 'Viola shirt will matter'

Federico Bernardeschi says his love for Fiorentina will be a key factor when it comes to deciding his future.

The 22-year-old has been one of the shining light's of the Viola's season to date, with his performances seeing him linked with a move to Chelsea.

However, in an interview with Corriere Dello Sport, the attacking midfielder praised the work being done at his current club, adding that he still believes the Florence side can secure Europa League qualification this campaign.

Sousa moves closer to Juve?

Juventus have reportedly held talks with Paulo Sousa over the Fiorentina Coach succeeding Massimiliano Allegri in the summer.

A report in Friday’s Quotidiano Sportivo claims the decision for Allegri and Juve to part once the season ends was made during a meeting after December’s lost Supercoppa Italiana.

General manager Beppe Marotta is thought to have begun sifting through candidates to replace the former Milan boss, among them Luciano Spalletti, Diego Simeone and Eusebio Di Francesco.

Corvino admits Sarri interest?

Rumours that Fiorentina will approach Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri in the summer are gathering pace.

According to Tuttosport, Viola Sporting Director Pantaleo Corvino admitted to fans that he was an admirer of Sarri yesterday.

Current boss Paulo Sousa is only under contract until the summer, and it has been widely reported that he will leave the club at the end of the season.

Results have been largely unimpressive for the Portuguese Coach this term, and reports have linked him with a move to Juventus.

Corvino: ‘Sousa? There’s a clause…’

Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino discusses Paulo Sousa’s future - “these things have to be shared”.

There is an option for a one-year extension in the Coach’s contract, but it’s widely believed he’ll leave the Viola in the summer.

“He’s our Coach, and given there’s a clause to be activated in April we’re assured in this respect,” Corvino said on Tgr Rai Toscana.

“It’s not our first thought at the moment. These things have to be shared though.”

Sousa: 'Fiorentina work on belief'

Paulo Sousa feels Fiorentina “deserved” the 2-1 victory at Pescara, but “we need to work on belief and shots from distance.”

The Viola were trailing for much of the game thanks to Gianluca Caprari springing the offside trap, but turned it around with a Cristian Tello brace.

“The approach was good and our opponents waited for us in a block behind the ball,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

Sousa: 'Fiorentina too complacent'

Paulo Sousa warned Fiorentina “didn’t have the right hunger to finish it” after a pulsating 3-3 draw with Genoa.

The Viola saw their 2-0 lead evaporate in just over two minutes, then after Nikola Kalinic had again restored the advantage gave away a late penalty.

“We could’ve killed the game off when it was 2-0, especially as it’s very difficult to play against Genoa,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

Zarate: 'Bitter Fiorentina exit'

Mauro Zarate wrote an open letter to Fiorentina fans after his move to Watford, mentioning “a bitter taste in the mouth” and “pointless controversy.”

The striker was barely used by Coach Paulo Sousa, though he was given some time off at the start of the season to help his wife through a serious illness.

He completed the permanent transfer to Walter Mazzarri’s Watford this week, a return to the Premier League.
