Pioli house-hunting for Fiorentina?

Current Inter Coach Stefano Pioli is very close to the Fiorentina bench and even seeking a house in the area, claims La Nazione newspaper.

The tactician has emerged as the hot favourite ahead of Sassuolo boss Eusebio Di Francesco for the Viola bench.

According to Florence-based newspaper La Nazione, Pioli is currently looking for a home in the city and signed up with a specialist agency.

‘Fiorentina Coach will be Italian’

Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino confirms the next Coach will be Italian, but defends Paulo Sousa.

The Viola lost to relegation strugglers Palermo at the weekend, causing fans to protest against the ownership and Sousa, who is expected to leave at the end of the season.

“The Palermo game, just like the last 45 against Borussia will remain among the worst ever in my footballing history,” Corvino admitted on Radio Bruno.

Fiorentina fans protest club

Fiorentina fans have shown their displeasure with the club, with a banner outside Artemio Franchi this morning.

The Viola were beaten 2-0 by relegation strugglers Palermo at the weekend, a result which saw them miss the chance to close the gap on Milan and Inter for a Europa League spot.

It appears the supporters are far from happy, with a banner appearing outside the stadium today protesting about the running of the club.

Sousa: 'Fiorentina's worst performance'

Paulo Sousa admits Fiorentina’s 2-0 defeat to Palermo represented “one of our worst performances in my two seasons here.”

Alessandro Diamanti curled in a trademark free kick before Haitam Aleesami’s late counter-attack at the Stadio Barbera.

“This was one of our worst performances in my two seasons here, including our first half against Pescara,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

Sousa: 'Fiorentina deserved it'

Paulo Sousa reassured Federico Bernardeschi after the missed penalty and refused to discuss Europe after a 5-4 win over Inter.

It was a truly bizarre game, as the Viola were 2-1 down, missed a penalty and went 5-2 up until a late Mauro Icardi double made it 5-4.

“It was an entertaining match between two sides who like to play the ball and attack. In the end, I think the lads deserved the victory for their performance,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.
