Roma back Garcia - for now

Roma have reportedly agreed to keep faith with Rudi Garcia, but only for the moment.

The Coach rescued his job with a 2-0 victory over Genoa to close out 2015 and qualified for the Champions League Round of 16, where they’ll face Real Madrid.

It was nonetheless rumoured that members of the club hierarchy had different ideas of how to progress into 2016.

Director Walter Sabatini has always backed Garcia, whereas President James Pallotta was less convinced.

Roma: Pallotta drops Garcia

Roma President James Pallotta gave his green light to replace Coach Rudi Garcia, who remains oblivious: 'This storm will pass'.

The whirlwind of rumours surrounding the Giallorossi still won't settle down, as the team's result crisis looks like it will inevitably result in a sacking of the Coach.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pallotta himself had a meeting with his directors and asked them to find someone else for the bench.

Pallotta meets with Rome Prefect

Roma President James Pallotta “identified a possible framework” to resolve the ultras strike in today’s meeting with the Prefect.

The fans have been absent from the Stadio Olimpico ever since the Prefect of Rome, Franco Gabrielli, ordered barriers be placed to split up the iconic Curva Sud section this season.

Lazio supporters have done the same for the Curva Nord being split into different areas.

“AS Roma reports that James Pallotta met the Prefect of Rome, Franco Gabrielli today,” read a statement.

Pallotta: ‘Fan boycott frustrating’

Roma President James Pallotta admits a fan boycott is “frustrating”, and insists they have “a top team”.

The Giallorossi qualified for the Last 16 of the Champions League last night, but were whistled after an uninspiring draw with BATE Borisov.

In addition, less than 30,000 fans attended the game, as Ultras continue a boycott over segregation of the Curva Sud.

“We played well yesterday, but the ball just wouldn’t go in,” Pallotta said in an interview with Premium Sport.

Pallotta: ‘Constant contact with Garcia’

Roma President James Pallotta and sporting director Walter Sabatini have given their backing to Coach Rudi Garcia.

The tactician is thought to be under pressure after a poor run of results, and wasn’t helped by conceding a late draw to Torino at the weekend.

“We don’t need to meet him,” Pallotta said outside a club meeting, explaining the absence of Garcia.

“We talk almost every day on the phone, we’re in constant contact.

“Torino? We had a couple of chances to win, but that penalty at the end...
