Chelsea join Emerson race

Chelsea have made a firm approach for Roma left-back Emerson Palmieri, who has also been linked with Juventus and Liverpool.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio, Antonio Conte has set his sights on the Italian-Brazilian.

It’s a risky move, because Emerson has just recovered from a torn anterior cruciate ligament he sustained in May 2017.

If Roma do need to sell someone in order to balance the books in January, they’d rather sacrifice Emerson than Radja Nainggolan or Kevin Strootman.

PSG in for Alex Sandro?

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in Juventus full-back Alex Sandro, but any transfer would take place in the summer.

Chelsea were pushing to sign the Brazilian last summer, but he ultimately decided to remain with the Bianconeri.

However, the left-back still hasn’t signed a new contract in Turin, fuelling speculation that this could be his last season with the Old Lady.

According to calciomercato.com, PSG are keen to sign him, though any deal would have to wait until the summer.

Marotta: ‘No Alex Sandro talks’

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta says there’s “interest from big clubs” in Alex Sandro but “no negotiations”.

The Brazilian full-back has been heavily linked with Chelsea since the summer, and there have been rumours the English club will make a bid this month.

“Juventus’ policy is that if a player asks to leave, we won’t hold him back,” Marotta reiterated, speaking to RAI in an interview which will be broadcast in full this evening.

Chelsea bid £50m for Alex Sandro?

Chelsea are offering €56m to take Alex Sandro from Juventus in January, according to The Mirror, anticipating Manchester United.

The Brazilian left-back had already been at the centre of a bidding war over the summer, with up to €70m rejected by Juve from Chelsea and Manchester City.

Now the situation has changed, as Alex Sandro’s performances this term have been a shadow of his former self, contributing one goal and five assists in 19 competitive games.

Alex Sandro given €60m price-tag

Juventus would be willing to sell Alex Sandro for €60m, according to Tuttosport, with Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea interested.

The Brazilian left-back was the subject of a bidding war last summer, but he and the club resisted proposals believed to be up to €70m.

His performances this season and the fact they already have Leonardo Spinazzola on the way following his loan spell with Atalanta means the situation has changed.
