Radu-Barca link denied

Stefan Radu's agent has spoken of his surprise with reports linking the Lazio full-back to European giants Barcelona.

"I honestly don't know anything about it," Viktor Becali told TMW on Monday evening when questioned on the subject.

"I was in Spain recently to watch the game between Barcelona and Real Madrid as I normally do, but I spoke to nobody from Barca while I was there."

The Romanian defender is starting to impress onlookers, especially as he still hasn't signed a contract extension in the capital.

Zoning out

Italian teams can't keep taking leaves of absence during games already played at a lower tempo than other nations, says Susy Campanale

Why is it that Italian sides play at a slower tempo than the rest of Europe, yet can't even manage that for a full 90 minutes? Time and again we see teams take rest periods during a match, like Lazio and Roma when 2-0 up this weekend, only to risk allowing the opposition back into the running. Milan just settled into neutral after demolishing Brescia in the first half-hour and were fortunate the Rondinelle were too weak to even attempt a counter-punch.

“The only positive was the second half reaction and the way the team went looking for a goal,” said the Coach.

Lotito: 'Lazio dominated Inter'

Lazio President Claudio Lotito was beaming after last night's victory against Inter. “We dominated and could've won 4-0.”

Serie A Week 15 kicked off on Friday evening with a 3-1 win at the Stadio Olimpico that puts the Biancocelesti temporarily joint top of the table alongside Milan.

“A game should be seen in its entirety. We could've won 4-0 and there was an amazing mistake from Stefano Mauri right in front of goal,” commented Lotito.

“Clearly such a defeat cannot leave us satisfied, but the team reacted well,” said Cambiasso.

“After conceding two avoidable goals, we closed the gap and had some chances to get an equaliser.

"Winning would certainly open up an important game," Reja said. "It would be really great. It would bring great enthusiasm to our fans and increase our conviction.
