Juventus name US tour squad

Juventus have named their squad for the pre-season tour of the U.S.A, but a number of big names are missing.

The Bianconeri face Bayern Munich on Thursday, before taking on Benfica, an MLS All-Star team and Real Madrid.

Today Massimiliano Allegri has named his squad for the International Champions Cup, but a host of senior players are missing as they recover from the World Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo won’t travel Stateside with his new teammates, while Paulo Dybala, Gonzalo Higuain, Juan Cuadrado, Rodrigo Bentancur and Douglas Costa are all out.

Roma: New boys travel to US

All nine of Roma’s senior signings this summer will travel to the US for the International Champions Cup.

Antonio Mirante, Daniel Fuzato, Ivan Marcano, Davide Santon, William Bianda, Bryan Cristante, Ante Coric, Javier Pastore and Justin Kluivert have all been called up, with only 18-year-old Nicolo Zaniolo missing out.

Milan drop seven for US tour

Milan have called up Pepe Reina, Leonardo Bonucci, Alen Halilovic, Andrea Bertolacci and Nikola Kalinic for their US tour, but seven are dropped.

Reina and Halilovic travel after their recent arrivals from Napoli and Hamburg respectively, as do Bonucci, Bertolacci and Kalinic, despite reports that the trio are close to leaving Milan.

However, Gustavo Gomez, Riccardo Montolivo, Carlos Bacca and goalkeeper Gabriel seem to already be on their way out after they were overlooked.

Ronaldo to skip ICC

Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to miss Juventus’ pre-season tour of the U.S.A, instead making his debut in the Villar Perosa friendly.

The Ballon d’Or has joined the Bianconeri from Real Madrid, but has been given extra time off after the World Cup.

He’ll return for pre-season on July 30, but ESPN is reporting that CR7 will not take part in the International Champions Cup.

Ronaldo joins Juventus July 30

Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to join up with the Juventus squad on July 30, in the midst of their pre-season tour of the USA.

The Portuguese superstar has joined the Bianconeri on a four-year contract, and will be presented at the Allianz Stadium on Monday.

Given that CR7 was involved in the World Cup though he has been granted extra time off, so he’ll return to his holiday after greeting the fans in Turin.

ICC chief eyes Milan takeover?

Elliott Management are reportedly planning a takeover of Milan with International Champions Cup chief Charlie Stillitano, according to La Repubblica.

Yonghong Li completed his takeover a year ago, but this week former President Silvio Berlusconi stated at a political rally that “the way things are going, I’ll end up buying Milan back.”

ICC fixtures confirmed

Inter, Juventus, Milan and Roma have had their fixtures confirmed for this summer’s International Champions Cup.

The friendly tournament takes place in countries across the world, though primarily the United States.

However, this year’s competition will also see European matches, including Inter v Sevilla in Lecce.

The Nerazzurri will face Vincenzo Montella’s side on August 7, having already taken on Chelsea in Gothenburg on August 1.

International Champions Cup schedule

The dates and venues of Juventus, Milan, Roma and Inter matches in the International Champions Cup, including Roma-Barcelona and Milan-Manchester United.

These are provisional, but provided by ESPN and most are believed to be accurate.

Milan will take on Manchester United in Los Angeles on July 25, with Roma against Tottenham Hotspur the same day in San Diego and Juventus with Bayern Munich in Philadelphia.

On July 28, Juventus are in action again with Benfica in New York.

Juventus, Milan, Inter and Roma have been confirmed as participants in the 2018 International Champions Cup.

The series of friendlies take place all over the world, but mainly in North America, and see Europe’s biggest clubs face off.

The fixture list has not been announced yet, nor has one final club, but there are at least four Italian sides in the mix.

Roma set for American tour

Roma are due to take part in the International Champions Cup this summer, reportedly in a group with Tottenham, Chelsea and Real Madrid.

The spell in America will form the main part of their pre-season training camp, as it’s believed the squad will fly out on July 22 or 23.

Although the official draw has not yet been announced, the Giallorossi are expected to be in a group with Spurs, Chelsea and the Merengues.

Their games will likely be played in San Diego, Dallas and New Jersey.
