Maran 'hurt' by heavy Napoli defeat

Genoa coach Rolando Maran will analyse the heavy 6-0 defeat to Napoli and was coy on the proposed move for Mario Balotelli.

The Grifoni started the season with a 4-1 win over Crotone but were battered by an impressive Partenopei in the second round.

Maran was ‘hurt’ by the goals conceded in Naples and hopes to bounce back from the big loss.

Report: Balotelli close to Genoa

Mario Balotelli seems set for a move to Genoa, reportedly signing a one-year contract with an option for a further year at the Marassi.

Genoa have been linked with the former Italy international, who could leave Brescia on a free transfer after the relegation to Serie B.

The controversial ending to his stay in Lombardy had sparked rumours of a move abroad, but the Rossoblu have reached out, according to SportItalia journalist Alfredo Pedulla.

Balotelli in talks with Genoa

Genoa are said to be in negotiations to offer Mario Balotelli a one-year contract after his latest failed experience at Brescia.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sportitalia, the player was proposed to the club by agent Mino Raiola.

At first, they were hesitant, but have now started talks over personal terms.

Balotelli is a free agent following one season at Brescia, although he did not play after the lockdown due to disagreements with the club.

Raiola: 'Balotelli will stay in Europe'

Agent Mino Raiola has claimed ‘there’s always a solution’ for Mario Balotelli and confirmed the former Italy international will remain in Europe.

Raiola met with Inter to discuss the return of Andrea PInamonti from Genoa today and spoke to Tuttomercatoweb after the negotiations.

“For the agreement between the clubs, you must talk to them,” Raiola said regarding said about Pinamonti’s return to San Siro. “For the lad, we are working.”

Raiola: 'Balotelli talking to various clubs'

‘Mario Balotelli is not finished and football needs him,” assures agent Mino Raiola. ‘We are talking to various clubs, including in Italy.’

The forward turned 30 this month and is out of contract, as his deal with Brescia would be terminated once the club was relegated.

Como confirm Balotelli talks
