Marotta: ‘Gundogan unsellable’

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta admits Borussia Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan is “unsellable”.

The Bianconeri have been linked with the German international in recent weeks, with reports that they were willing to offer up to €30m to get their man.

“Juventus are taking part in three competitions, and we’re taking part to win,” Marotta told Premium Sport ahead of today’s clash with Verona.

Liverpool favourites for Caceres

Inter and Milan want Martin Caceres, but Juventus prefer a sale abroad to Liverpool, Besiktas, Monaco or Fenerbahce.

The Uruguay international will be out of contract in June and was frozen out following his second car crash in as many years.

He has admirers in Serie A, specifically Inter and Milan, but Juve do not want to reinforce a direct opponent.

Instead, they would push prefer to either keep him on until his contract expires or sell the defender abroad.

Milan-Inter derby for Caceres

Milan and Inter are reportedly competing for Juventus defender Martin Caceres with very different proposals.

The 29-year-old was supposed to sign his renewal last summer, but disagreements over his contract deferred the operation. As things stand, the player will find himself a free agent in summer 2016.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are looking to sign the defender and are willing to offer Juventus €3.5m in January.

Liverpool or Fenerbahce for Caceres

Martin Caceres is on his way out of Juventus and Liverpool fight Fenerbahce for the Uruguay international.

According to Tuttosport, Daniele Rugani’s performance in his full Juve debut, a 4-0 Coppa Italia win over Torino, convinced Max Allegri and the club that he can be relied upon.

That means Caceres will be allowed to go as a free agent when his contract expires in June 2016.

The Uruguayan was frozen out in November after his second car crash in the city of Turin and has consistently suffered from injury problems.

Banega in, Caceres out at Juve?

Juventus favour a bid for Sevilla’s Ever Banega, Simone Zaza could stay and Martin Caceres is wanted by Fenerbahce, say reports.

Tuttosport writes today that the Bianconeri  want a midfielder in January and that Banega has become the most popular option at the club.

The 27-year-old’s representatives have been in constant contact with the club according to the newspaper, who also continue to link the Turin giants with Borussia Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan.

Milan consider Caceres?

Milan are considering a move for Juventus defender Martin Caceres, according to reports.

The 28-year-old was suspended by the Bianconeri earlier this season after a car crash in Turin, and though he has returned to the squad, Coach Massimiliano Allegri has not selected him.

Juventus talks with Barzagli, Evra

Juventus will reportedly offer new contracts to Andrea Barzagli and Patrice Evra, but Martin Caceres will leave.

The three defenders are all out of contract at the end of the season, meaning they can talk to other clubs in January.

According to Calciomercato, the club will meet with Barzagli’s agent, Claudio Orlandini, before Christmas, with the veteran expected to agree on a new deal, although he has other offers.

Fenerbahce eye Caceres

Juventus defender Martin Caceres could be heading to Turkey for Fenerbahce in January.

The Uruguay international will be out of contract at the end of the season and had several off the field issues, including a nasty car crash a couple of months ago.

According to Milliyet in Turkey, Fenerbahce see Caceres as the ideal replacement for his fellow Uruguayan Diego Lugano.

Buffon and Mandzukic doubts

Juventus confirm Gigi Buffon, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Mario Mandzukic are in doubt to face Milan on Saturday.

The Bianconeri are getting their players back from international duty, though Paulo Dybala and Martin Caceres will return from South America tomorrow.

Goalkeeper and captain Buffon went off during the 2-2 draw with Romania last night with a right thigh problem.

A statement released by the club confirmed he will undergo further tests and “his availability against Milan will be evaluated.”
