Negri: 'Allegri suited to Spurs or Arsenal'

Former Juventus coach Max Allegri ‘would be well suited to Tottenham Hotspur or Arsenal,’ insists Marco Negri.

The ex-Glasgow Rangers and Perugia striker spoke to Radio Musica Television about Allegri’s future after taking a year off.

“I’m happy with the career he’s had, proving all his worth, as he was already directing everyone about in the Perugia midfield,” said Negri.

Arsenal still fighting Napoli for Gabriel

Napoli continue to face competition from Arsenal for Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes, according to reports in France.

The Partenopei had emerged over the last few days as outright favourites for the 22-year-old Brazilian centre-back.

However, le10sport.com maintain this evening that Arsenal are still in the running and keeping a close eye on the situation.

The asking price for Gabriel is €30m and Napoli would see him as a suitable heir to Kalidou Koulibaly.

Milan chance for Maitland-Niles

Milan are on alert after reports Arsenal have put Ainsley Maitland-Niles on the transfer market.

The Rossoneri had already been linked with the right-back several weeks ago, seen as an alternative to Davide Calabria.

He turns 23 in August, but is not considered to be part of Mikel Arteta’s plans, according to the Star on Sunday newspaper.

Maitland-Niles can play in a more advanced wide midfield role too, or even as a left-back when needed.

Arsenal and Everton talks for Rabiot

Arsenal and Everton are in negotiations with Juventus for want-away midfielder Adrien Rabiot, claim reports in France, with Manchester United also interested.

The former Paris Saint-Germain talent arrived as a free agent last summer, but has made very little significant impact on Maurizio Sarri’s squad.

His delay in returning to Turin after the lockdown also irritated the club, who put him on the market with the hopes of creating a strong profit from his sale for around €15-20m.

However, it is warned they ‘above all’ face competition from Arsenal, as well as their Serie A rivals

There is also the issue of meeting Verona’s €30m asking price, so the newspaper points to Adam Marusic as the key.
