New deals for Gigio and Calhanoglu?

Milan are reportedly ready to discuss contract renewals with Gigio Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu.

Il Corriere dello Sport reveals agent Mino Raiola is expected at Milanello to start talks over Donnarumma’s contract with the Rossoneri.

The goalkeeper’s current deal expires in June 2021 and the newspaper reports a potential clause in the new deal to help untie the knot.

Calhanoglu is in a similar situation, as his contract expires at the end of the season as well.

More to Milan than Ibrahimovic

Milan entered the Europa League match against Bodo/Glimt severely under-strength, but proved they can win even without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, writes Vijay Rahaman.

Mere hours before kick-off, it was confirmed that talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic had tested positive for the Coronavirus. The Swede had heavily influenced the upturn in fortunes of the San Siro club, scoring three of their four goals this season, but now the team faced a determined Norwegian outfit looking to have their say.

To make matters worse, Ante Rebic was also suspended, so 18-year-old Lorenzo Colombo had to lead the attack. After months of dependence on Zlatan, others needed to step up for Milan...

But the shot stopper’s contract expires in June 2021 and he has yet to extend with the Rossoneri. Maldini has praised the youngster and hopes to tie him down to a new deal.

Mihajlovic: 'Milan have Ibra, Bologna don't'

Sinisa Mihajlovic explains the difference between Milan and Bologna in their San Siro defeat. ‘They have Zlatan Ibrahimovic and we don’t.’

This was a negative start to the season, losing 2-0 with an Ibrahimovic brace, but at least an improvement on the 5-1 defeat they suffered here a few months ago.

Tatarusanu set for Milan role

Lyon goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu has been chosen as Milan’s understudy to Gianluigi Donnarumma, claim Sky Sport Italia.

The 34-year-old Romania international is the replacement for Asmir Begovic, who in turn had come in for Pepe Reina.

Tatarusanu is no stranger to Serie A, as he played for Fiorentina from 2014-17.

He moved on to FC Nantes and joined Olympique Lyonnais as a free agent last summer.

The shot-stopper made only six competitive appearances for Lyon.

The Romanian is expected to have his medical tomorrow.

Donnarumma makes contract demands

Gianluigi Donnarumma has reportedly requested a contract worth €10m per season net to extend with Milan, as his current deal expires in 2021.

The goalkeeper came up through their youth academy and made his Serie A debut in October 2015, aged just 16 years and eight months.

He was already at the centre of another contract dispute before penning a new deal in 2017, but that too is about to expire at the end of this season.

According to the Corriere della Sera newspaper, agent Mino Raiola put forward his demands to the Milan directors.

“After such a long time, the first match is always going to be complicated,” the goalkeeper told RAI Sport.

Chelsea use Kepa to get Donnarumma?

Reports are growing in England that Chelsea want to swap Kepa Arrizabalaga for Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who has not even discussed a new contract.

The shot-stopper is only tied down to San Siro until June 2021 and agent Mino Raiola confirmed this month that no real talks have yet taken place to agree an extension.

That is because the focus had first been on securing Zlatan Ibrahimovic to a new deal, which was agreed this weekend and should be signed on Monday.
