Leo and PSG swoop for Donnarumma

Leonardo’s first move as new Paris Saint-Germain sporting director could be to poach Gianluigi Donnarumma from his old club Milan for €65m.

According to Tuttosport, the Brazilian who spent the past season as technical director at San Siro could make the goalkeeper his number one target, if he is reappointed at the Parc des Princes.

PSG are reportedly offering somewhere between €60-€65m for the 20-year-old shot-stopper, as they need another goalkeeper since Gianluigi Buffon announced his departure from Paris.

Milan dragged into modernity

Rather than downsizing of ambitions, fans should see the Ivan Gazidis revamp as dragging Milan into becoming a modern football club, writes Richard Hall.

A new era is emerging for the Rossoneri and it doesn’t include Gennaro Gattuso or Leonardo. Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis has moved on behalf of Elliott Management to make sure the club operate with a new philosophy, even if it is based out of necessity. There will be no more big transfer fees, there will be a concerted effort to balance the books and there will be a focus on youth. Whilst this might be an unfortunate situation for the red and black half of the city, it could just perhaps be the making of them.

Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is set to miss Italy’s upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers after suffering a thigh injury.

Donnarumma pulled up just 21 minutes into Milan’s 3-2 win at SPAL on Sunday, and a medical report on the Rossoneri’s official website confirmed an injury to his right thigh.

ANSA writes such problems take up to a month to recover from, all-but-ruling him out of June’s qualification matches against Greece and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Milan finally break down Frosinone

Milan were made to work very hard for the three points against Frosinone, as Gianluigi Donnarumma saved a penalty before Krzysztof Piatek and Suso goals.

The Rossoneri needed to take advantage of a kind fixture list, as Roma drew, Torino lost, while Inter and Atalanta had very difficult trips to Napoli and Juventus, so registered a third straight victory.

This result means they are mathematically qualified for at least a place in the Europa League.

PSG prepare €50m for Donnarumma

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly preparing a €50m bid for Gianluigi Donnarumma, if Milan fail to qualify for the Champions League.

According to newspaper La Repubblica, if the Rossoneri finish outside the top four in Serie A, they will be forced into selling off their most prized asset to help fall in line with Financial Fair Play rules.

The goalkeeper’s agent Mino Raiola may have been recently issued with a worldwide ban from brokering transfers by FIFA, but has an excellent working relationship with both clubs.
