Icardi: 'Argentina, learn from Italy!'

Inter's Mauro Icardi is disgusted with the Argentina national team because, unlike in Italy, they 'only want to throw mud on me'.

In spite of his consistent goal-scoring record, the 23-year-old only ever played once for the Albiceleste senior team, and then it was only for eight minutes.

West Ham eye Icardi swoop

West Ham United have set their eyes on Inter's Mauro Icardi, but it's uncertain yet whether the Italians will sell him.

The Argentine confirmed his quality yesterday as he scored his sixteenth goal of the season, in the team's 2-1 win over Empoli.

Icardi is one of the Nerazzurri's most highly-valued players and several European teams are considering a bid for the summer.

Argentina call Dybala, drop Icardi

Paulo Dybala, Gonzalo Higuain, Lucas Biglia and Facundo Roncaglia are in Argentina’s Copa America preliminary squad, but no room for Inter hitman Mauro Icardi.

Coach Gerardo Martino named his initial list for the summer tournament, which includes four Serie A players.

Juventus talent Dybala is brought into the fold to join runaway Capocannoniere Higuain, who scored 30 top flight goals for Napoli this season.

Icardi a Roma dream?

Reports say Inter captain Mauro Icardi has been identified as Roma’s dream replacement for Edin Dzeko.

The Bosnian striker hasn’t impressed in his debut season with the Giallorossi and could leave the capital after just one year.

Il Messaggero has reported today that Icardi has been set as the Lupi’s ideal replacement for Dzeko if he leaves.

Roma’s sporting director Walter Sabatini and Coach Luciano Spalletti are both big fans of the Argentine according to the outlet.

Mancini: ‘CL not gone yet’

Inter Coach Roberto Mancini isn’t giving up on the Champions League - “wait until the end”.

The Nerazzurri lost at Genoa in midweek, leaving the race for third-place firmly in the hands of Roma, who have a seven point advantage with just four rounds remaining.

“We have to wait until the end,” Mancini told reporters in his Press conference ahead of the Udinese game.

Cordoba: ‘Enough about Calciopoli’

Ivan Cordoba discusses Calciopoli - “Inter weren’t convicted because they were innocent!”

The scandal saw Juventus stripped of two Scudetti - one of which was awarded to the Nerazzurri - and demoted to Serie B, while Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio were also punished.

In 2011, federal prosecutor Stefano Palazzi accused Inter’s Giacinto Facchetti of attempting to influence referee selection, but no trial could be brought as the statute of limitations had expired.

Mancini: ‘Icardi can improve a lot’

Inter Coach Roberto Mancini says Mauro Icardi ‘can get a lot better’ and that ‘we can’t sell Ivan Perisic’.

The Nerazzurri boss was speaking ahead of tomorrow’s Serie A clash with Genoa as his team target a late dash for third place.

“I played with [Pietro] Vierchowod and even at 35 he continued to improve,” Mancio said at today’s Press conference.

“Mauro is 23 and with commitment and concentration he could get a lot better.

Icardi revives Inter ambition

While third place seemed a fantasy a few weeks ago, Inter can salvage the season with a Champions League spot, writes Ross Highfield.

Over the past couple of weeks, a few Inter players have voiced their belief that the club can still qualify for next season’s Champions League. After a fortunate win over Frosinone, Mauro Icardi’s suggestion that third place was still the target seemed a little ambitious.
