Mancini: 'Pirlo-Inter? I know nothing'

Roberto Mancini discussed the rumour that New York City FC's Andrea Pirlo could join Italy: 'I know nothing, but let's wait and see'.

The Italian superstar was linked to a surprise return to Serie A through a loan to the Nerazzurri, but their Coach says the news came as a surprise to him.

“It's not true that I called him,” he said in today's Press conference. “I never spoke with him. In football anything can happen, but for now there's nothing.

Icardi alerts Chelsea and Liverpool

Chelsea and Liverpool are reportedly reviving their interest in Mauro Icardi after Inter dropped the striker and captain.

The Premier League sides had already been tracking Maurito over the summer, but were scared off when he signed a contract extension and was given the captain’s armband.

According to several English papers, including the Daily Express, Metro and Liverpool Echo, Liverpool and Chelsea hope to prise the Argentine away from San Siro.

Thohir: ‘Probably some winter moves’

Inter President Erick Thohir says there will ‘probably be departures and arrivals’ in January, but that the winter market is ‘dangerous’.

The Nerazzurri have been linked with a host of players ahead of the January transfer window opening, but Thohir denied that Coach Roberto Mancini has requested backup.

The Indonesian businessman also discussed the form of Mauro Icardi and Roma midifielder Radja Nainggolan, who reveals he ‘would’ve liked to have at Inter’.

Inter Coach Roberto Mancini and captain Mauro Icardi reportedly had a one-on-one talk at Pinetina this morning.

The striker was surprisingly dropped for the win over Roma on Sunday, following his comments after the midweek win at Bologna, though Mancio insisted it was a tactical decision.

Mancini: 'Icardi a tactical choice'

Roberto Mancini thanked a “solid” Inter for beating Roma and explained his “tactical” decision to drop Mauro Icardi.

The Nerazzurri have won six out of seven games by 1-0 results, including this evening against the Serie A leaders.

“A team is like a house, if you don’t have solid foundations, it will sink. We had a great game against an excellent Roma side, so 1-0 was a good result,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

Inter director Piero Ausilio confirms Mauro Icardi was dropped against Roma “as a technical decision.”

‘Roma? Important, not decisive’

Inter Coach Roberto Mancini describes tomorrow’s Roma game as “very important, but not decisive.”

The Nerazzurri welcome the League-leaders to San Siro tomorrow, knowing that they can leapfrog the Lupi with a win.

“I think for both teams it will be very important, but not decisive,” Mancini told reporters in his pre-match Press conference.
