Di Francesco: ‘I've had offers...’

Coach Eusebio Di Francesco confirms “clubs have approached me” but wants to continue with Sassuolo’s project based on youngsters.

The Neroverdi have qualified for the Europa League for the first time in their history, leading to speculation that bigger clubs could tempt the tactician away.

“It takes failures to grow too, as happened to me in the first season in Serie A,” Di Francesco explained to Radio 24, having been fired and brought back by Sassuolo.

Squinzi: 'Berardi could stay'
Sassuolo owner Lorenzo Squinzi confirmed he could keep Domenico Berardi and Juventus can be out-bid.

The Neroverdi have qualified for the Europa League after finishing sixth in Serie A, as Milan lost the Coppa Italia Final to Juve last night.

“I think we need to strengthen the squad so we have players or more or less the same level so we can alternate between Serie A and the Europa League,” Squinzi told Sky Sport Italia.

Agent: 'No Juve, Inter on Berardi'

Domenico Berardi's agent says he has had 'no contacts' with Inter or Juventus, so the striker may remain with Sassuolo.

The Neroverdi's excellent season means that, should Milan fail to beat the Old Lady in the Coppa Italia final, the sixth-placed team will take part in the Europa League.

Berardi is a key component of Sassuolo and he would relish the prospect of playing in Europe, but many believe he'll be gone before the end of the summer.

EDF: ‘Juve suits Berardi’

The Europa League would be ‘another step in Sassuolo’s growth’ says Eusebio Di Francesco, who says ‘Juventus are most suited to Domenico Berardi.’

The Neroverdi finished sixth in Serie A this season, meaning a Bianconeri victory in Saturday’s Coppa Italia final would see them qualify for Europe for the first time.

“I hope Juve win the Coppa, because it’d be fantastic to compete in Europe,” Di Francesco told Gazzetta dello Sport.
