Valverde: 'Vidal won't leave'

Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde warns Inter transfer target Arturo Vidal will stay for the rest of the season. “After Carles Alena, nobody else will leave.”

The Nerazzurri have made no secret of their interest in the Chile international, who would reunite with his old Juventus coach Antonio Conte at San Siro.

Vidal taking legal action against Barcelona over unpaid bonuses seemed to be a push towards the exit, but Valverde has other ideas.

Napoli lead Vertonghen race

Napoli are reportedly the favourites to sign Jan Vertonghen from Tottenham Hotspur after Ajax seemed to pull back their interest.

The Partenopei had already been linked with Vertonghen over the summer, but he is now in the final six months of his contract with Spurs.

According to Sky Sports UK and Der Telegraaf, Napoli are leading the race for the defender, because Ajax consider the €12m asking price and his €4-5m salary demands too expensive.

Inter set sights on Eriksen

Italian sources claim Inter are determined to get Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen, despite competition from Juventus, PSG, Real Madrid and Manchester United.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Tuttosport and the Corriere dello Sport newspapers, Inter are making Eriksen a priority for coach Antonio Conte.

Juve to begin Eriksen talks

Juventus and Real Madrid will both try to start talks with Christian Eriksen in January, as his Tottenham Hotspur contract expires in June.

The Danish midfielder will be a free agent at the end of the season, so can legally begin discussions with other clubs soon.

He has long been associated with both Real Madrid and Juventus, but the lack of a transfer fee gives the Bianconeri an extra boost.

They already snapped up players such as Paul Pogba, Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey as free agents and hope to do the same with Eriksen.
