Buffon: BBC 'indispensable', but...

Gianluigi Buffon says that while the injured Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Barzagli and Giorgio Chiellini are ‘indispensable’, Juventus ‘don’t have a supporting cast’.

Bonucci, Barzagli and Chiellini are all sidelined for Juve, just one week before their Champions League last-16 first leg against Atletico Madrid, but Buffon backed Daniele Rugani and Martin Caceres to deliver in the trio’s absence.

Juve lose BBC after seven years

For the first time in seven years, Juventus will be without the full BBC defence of Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini.

Mandzukic back for Juve

Mario Mandzukic is back in Juventus’ squad for their Serie A game against Parma on Saturday, but Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci are missing.

Mandzukic was feared to be out for months with a thigh injury, but the striker has kept to his word and joins Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala, Douglas Costa, Moise Kean and Federico Bernardeschi in Juve’s attack.

Juve ask for Bruno Alves

With Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli injured, Juventus have asked Parma for Bruno Alves.

Multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and more all claim there had already been an approach for the 37-year-old centre-back over the last few days.

However, news that Bonucci will be out for approximately a month with a sprained ankle and this evening Chiellini limping off with another recurrence of his calf issues during the Coppa Italia quarter-final with Atalanta prompted a rethink.

Benatia: Thought I'd retire at Juve

Medhi Benatia admits he thought he would retire at Juventus, but the return of Leonardo Bonucci forced him to ‘change my plans’.

Benatia was a regular in Juve’s defence last season but fell out of favour after Bonucci came back from Milan, and the Moroccan suggested that was the cue for him to join Al-Duhail.

Allegri: Juve not CL favourites

Max Allegri insists Juventus are not Champions League favourites but assures Leonardo Bonucci’s injury is ‘less serious’ than they first feared.

Bonucci is facing a month out with an ankle injury, potentially ruling him out of Juve’s Champions League last-16 tie with Atletico Madrid.

“Pjanic and Khedira are available, maybe Mandzukic too,” Allegri said at a Press conference for Wednesday’s Coppa Italia quarter-final against Atalanta.

Bonucci out for a month?

There are reports Leonardo Bonucci could be out of action for a month with a sprained ankle, changing the Juventus transfer strategy.

The defender seemed to sprain his ankle early into the 2-1 victory over Lazio last night, but tried to play on through the pain for another 20 minutes before giving in.

He was seen leaving the Stadio Olimpico on crutches and is undergoing tests this morning.

Bonucci: Not the real me at Milan

Leonardo Bonucci admits he was not the ‘real’ him at Milan but assures they let him ‘mature’ and hopes Gonzalo Higuain ‘gets back to being a great player’.

Bonucci lasted just one season at Milan before heading back to Juventus last summer, while Higuain joined Chelsea on Wednesday after a similarly-brief spell at San Siro.

“I’ve matured, I’m now more rational when I make decisions,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
