Bonucci: 'Juve can do it all'

Leonardo Bonucci said Juventus are capable both of playing Maurizio Sarri’s style of football and “suffering” under pressure after beating Lokomotiv Moscow 2-1.

The Bianconeri kept the ball for long periods in Moscow, but with a slow tempo and little effectiveness, until Douglas Costa’s scorching run.

'De Ligt will become world's best'

Leonardo Bonucci has urged critics to lay off Matthijs de Ligt and is adamant his Juventus teammate “will become the best defender in the world.”

De Ligt’s early performances for Juve have been scrutinised heavily, given his status as arguably the most promising centre-back in European football and his hefty price tag, but Bonucci has no doubts at all about the Dutchman.

“De Ligt’s fate is already decided,” the 31-year-old told Tuttosport.

Better late than never.  Paulo Dybala’s brace against Lokomotiv Moscow spared Juve’s blushes, but the win shouldn’t mask just how poor the Italian champions were.

Maurizio Sarri, who has for the most part got his team selection right so far this season, didn’t this time. He might’ve anticipated that Lokomotiv wouldn’t come to Turin to attack, and they didn’t, finishing the game with a paltry 23% possession.

Bonucci: 'Family atmosphere for Italy'

Leonardo Bonucci said there is a real “family” atmosphere within the Italy squad and revealed why he’ll “always be grateful” to Roberto Mancini.

The Nazionale will be at Euro 2020 after winning all seven qualifiers so far, including last night’s 2-0 victory over Greece at the Stadio Olimpico.

“A strong rapport has been created between the players and Mancini,” the Juventus defender said at the Festival dello Sport.

Bonucci: Italy have a duty

Leonardo Bonucci says Italy have a ‘duty’ to qualify for Euro 2020 in front of their fans and will draw inspiration from a recent visit to a children’s hospital.

Italy face Greece at the Olimpico on Saturday evening, knowing a win could secure them a place at the European Championship - held all over the continent - next summer.

“It would be exciting to reach our objective so far in advance,” Bonucci said at a Press conference.

I was bullied, reveals Bonucci

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci has revealed that he suffered at the hands of bullies when he was 14.

Bonucci gave an interview to Gazzetta dello Sport promoting his new book ‘My friend Leo’, which he authored with journalist Francesco Cerniti.

“I was involved in an incident when I was 14, which I never talked about,” he confessed.

“I was in Viterbo, my hometown, and found myself in a particular situation, threatened by a boy two years older than me.

Bonucci: 'The game we enjoy'

Leonardo Bonucci said the 2-1 win over Inter at San Siro was “the kind of game we enjoy” and he’s eager to help Juventus teammate Matthijs de Ligt.

Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain scored either side of a Lautaro Martinez penalty to decide the Derby d’Italia, ending Inter’s 100 per cent record.

“We were able to deal with the various moments of the game with confidence in ourselves, but also humility,” Bonucci told Sky Sport Italia.
