Benatia: ‘Respect Garcia, but…’

Medhi Benatia admits “I respect Rudi Garcia and all his staff” amid links to Marseille but “I still have two years on my Juventus contract”.

The centre-back was a regular alongside Giorgio Chiellini this season, but has nonetheless been linked with a summer exit.

A reunion with Garcia, with whom he worked at Roma, a the Stade Velodrome has been mooted, but the Moroccan wants to respect his contract in Turin.

“I respect Garcia and all his staff,” Benatia told France Football.

Juve: Benatia out, Romagnoli in?

Juventus are ready to make a bid for Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli as a replacement for Medhi Benatia, according to Mediaset Premium.

There are suggestions Benatia’s rapport with Coach Max Allegri and some of his teammates in Turin has broken down.

Arsenal (who are on the verge of signing Stephan Lichtsteiner as a free agent) and Olympique Marseille are believed to be interested in the Morocco international.

If Benatia does leave Juventus, it’s believed they will turn to Milan centre-back Romagnoli.

Benatia: 'Buffon leaves a hole'

Medhi Benatia hailed the “winning mentality” at Juventus, but admitted Gianluigi Buffon’s departure leaves “a hole” in the squad.

Today’s 2-1 win over Verona closed their campaign with Scudetto and Coppa Italia victories, but also saw Buffon, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Kwadwo Asamoah wave goodbye.

Gallery: Coppa Italia final

Juventus won their fourth Coppa Italia in a row with a 4-0 win over Milan.

After a goalless first half, Medhi Benatia opened the scoring with a header from a corner, before two howlers from Gianluigi Donnarumma handed the Bianconeri an unassailable lead.

Nikola Kalinic made it 4-0 with an own goal, and it's now just a matter of time before Juve wrap up their fourth domestic treble on the spin.

Benatia: 'This is Juventus'

Medhi Benatia admits scoring a brace against Milan in the Coppa Italia Final helped make up for his Napoli error. “This is Juventus.”

The Bianconeri ran riot at the Stadio Olimpico this evening in a 4-0 victory.

“It’s pleasing to see our fans so happy, so proud of us. It was an important objective for this year, once again we gave an incredible response,” the defender told Rai Sport.

Buffon: 'Juve would congratulate Napoli'

Gigi Buffon denied reports of a clash with Juventus teammate Medhi Benatia and insisted they’ll “have no problems congratulating” Napoli after a fascinating campaign.

The rumours emerged after the 1-0 home defeat to Napoli, which cut the gap at the top of the table to just one point, that Buffon had blamed Benatia for a last-minute error in a heated locker room row.

Buffon: ‘No argument with Benatia’

Gianluigi Buffon insists reports he had a row with Juventus teammate Medhi Benatia are “patently invented”.

There were multiple reports this morning that the captain had stern words for his teammates after the Napoli defeat, but the goalkeeper insists that’s not the case.

“It’s the kind of gossip, patently invented, that comes when teams like Juventus who don’t have an Achilles Heel lose,” Buffon told JTV.

Allegri: ‘Crotone matters more’

Juventus Coach Massimiliano Allegri insists “of the two games we have this week, the most important and the most decisive is tomorrow” at Crotone.

The Bianconeri face their Scudetto rivals Napoli in Turin on Sunday night, but first they travel south for a midweek clash with the Squali.
