Juve duo in France Football XI

France Football named two Juventus players in their Team of 2015, which was dominated by Barcelona stars.

The highly-respected magazine unveiled its ideal XI of the year.

Winning the Scudetto, Coppa Italia and reaching the Champions League Final saw Juve represented with two members of the old guard.

They included goalkeeper Gigi Buffon and centre-back Giorgio Chiellini.

Barcelona dominated the line-up with four members, while Kevin De Bruyne was the only Premier League representative.

Rugani: ‘Learning from BBC’

Daniele Rugani feels “very fortunate” to be learning from Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini at Juventus.

The Italian Under-21 international made his first start for the Bianconeri in yesterday’s Coppa Italia win over Torino, and praised his more experienced teammates.

“I feel very fortunate to be surrounded by top pros on a daily basis and to be able to watch and learn from everything they do,” Rugani told JTV.

Chiellini: 'A lot at stake for Juve'

Giorgio Chiellini admits Juventus have a lot to lose and gain in tonight’s clash with Fiorentina.

Chiellini: 'Juve deserved more'

Giorgio Chiellini felt “even a draw would’ve been limiting” in the 1-0 defeat to Sevilla, now Juventus hope for a “kind draw.”

The Bianconeri needed a point in Spain to be sure of top spot in the Champions League group, but were beaten 1-0 and Manchester City saw off Borussia Monchengladbach 4-2.

“We did not deserve to lose. In fact, even a draw would’ve been limiting considering the performances,” Chiellini told Mediaset Premium.

Paulo Dybala was decisive as Juventus downed Lazio 2-0, but Luca Cetta also saw plenty of promise in Giorgio Chiellini’s dominant display.

Travelling to Rome on the back of four successive Serie A victories, Juventus were coming to a pivotal moment in their season. Juventus players nominated for FIFPro XI

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is among the names nominated for this year’s FIFPro World XI.

The award involves votes from nearly 25,000 professional footballers from 70 different countries. They select one goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders and three forwards.

The Bianconeri’s Paul Pogba and Giorgio Chiellini have also been shortlisted, along with Andrea Pirlo, Carlos Tevez and Arturo Vidal, who left the club this summer.

Juventus stars get Team of the Year nod

Six Juventus players have been nominated for UEFA’s Team of the Year, including goalkeeper Gigi Buffon.

The Bianconeri reached the Champions League final last season, eventually losing 3-1 to Barcelona in Berlin.

Buffon was snubbed when the shortlist for the Ballon d’Or was drawn up, but has been named as a candidate for the team of the season.

Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini have also been given a nod, as well as Claudio Marchisio, Alvaro Morata and Paul Pogba.

Chiellini: ‘Crucial to go through early’

Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini admits “it’s important to go through early” in the Champions League.

The Bianconeri can secure qualification and go top of the group with a win over Manchester City tomorrow, and the Italian international is keen to secure progress as soon as possible.

“We have match point at home,” Chiellini explained, speaking to Mediaset.

“We could go through on Wednesday, and it’s important to get there early to avoid the top teams in the Last 16.
