Milan: Spalletti no, Pioli yes?

Milan could now go for Stefano Pioli or a foreign Coach as Luciano Spalletti is allegedly asking Inter for too much compensation.

Milan had targeted Spalletti to replace Marco Giampaolo and appeared to have agreed personal terms with the Coach.

However, the stumbling block has been a severance package with Inter, given he is under contract with them until 2021.

Spalletti or Pioli for Milan job?

Milan are taking time to consider Marco Giampaolo’s position, with Luciano Spalletti and Stefano Pioli reportedly the favourites, but there is one Gennaro Gattuso option.

The 2-1 win away to Genoa was not enough to take the pressure off this Coach, as the performance was still disappointing and lacking in any clear identity.

Pioli stalls Samp for Milan job?

Stefano Pioli is stalling Sampdoria because he is in the frame for Milan, claim Sky Sport Italia, as Marco Giampaolo is not yet safe.

The Blucerchiati are looking to replace Eusebio Di Francesco, who has lost six of the opening seven Serie A games, and Pioli is their first choice ahead of Claudio Ranieri and Beppe Iachini.

However, Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claims this afternoon that Pioli is hesitating because he has other offers potentially on the table.

Samp and Genoa want Ranieri and Pioli

Claudio Ranieri and Stefano Pioli are both candidates for the Sampdoria and Genoa benches, as it’s all change at Marassi.

Both clubs seem ready to pull the plug on their respective Coaches, as Eusebio Di Francesco lost six of his opening seven Serie A games on the Samp bench, while Aurelio Andreazzoli has one point from the last five at Genoa.

According to the latest reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia, two names are appearing on both wish-lists.

Pioli favourite for Sampdoria job

Stefano Pioli is the favourite to replace Eusebio Di Francesco on the Sampdoria bench after President Massimo Ferrero hinted at a dismissal.

While Beppe Iachini is also an option, multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia, the Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport all point to Pioli.

The tactician turns 54 later this month and had been on the Fiorentina bench until he resigned in April following a disagreement with the club owners.

Before that, Pioli had spells at Chievo, Palermo, Bologna, Lazio and Inter.

Report: Ranieri on Samp shortlist

Claudio Ranieri and Stefano Pioli are reportedly in a tug-of-war to replace Sampdoria boss Eusebio Di Francesco.

According to Il Secolo XIX, Di Francesco needs a convincing performance from Samp during their trip to Verona tomorrow if he is to keep his job.

The newspaper writes Pioli is on their list of possible successors but also that Ranieri’s name has been “added recently”.

The 67-year-old is currently out of work after leaving Roma at the end of last season, coincidentally taking over from Di Francesco.

Brescia: Pioli to replace Corini?

Massimo Cellino is reportedly ready to bring in former Fiorentina and Inter boss Stefano Pioli if Brescia lose to Udinese this weekend.

Brescia only returned to Serie A this season, but Gazzetta dello Sport claims Coach Eugenio Corini is already under huge pressure.

The Rondinelle opened the campaign with a win against Cagliari but have followed up with defeats to Milan and Bologna.

As per La Gazzetta, Cellino was particularly furious with how his club threw away a 3-1 lead against Bologna to lose 4-3.

Chiesa should thank Fiorentina

Despite strong interest from Juventus, Fiorentina somehow managed to keep Federico Chiesa and Vilizar Yakimov thinks both player and club will benefit.

This time Federico is not going to Turin. Only two years after Juventus snatched up Federico Bernardeschi from Fiorentina, the Bianconeri tried to do the same with another young talent that is blossoming at the Artemio Franchi.

However, this time the champions were dealing with a completely different customer compared to the Bernardeschi days. La Viola’s new ownership, ambitious project and revived enthusiasm proved to be enough to keep Federico Chiesa out of Juve’s reach and the fans are loving it.

Montella confirmed at Fiorentina

Vincenzo Montella is confirmed as the Fiorentina Coach after a meeting with new President Rocco Commisso.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia, FirenzeViola and multiple sources, today’s encounter in New York went well and the club will not seek a replacement.

Montella only took the job on April 10 when Stefano Pioli resigned in protest at former patrons Diego and Andrea Della Valle.

He failed to win a single game, managing only two draws and six defeats between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
