Pioli: 'Milan dominated Parma'

Stefano Pioli believes Milan have turned a corner after their 1-0 win away to Parma. “We had 25 attempts on goal and dominated.”

Theo Hernandez had to pounce on a lucky ricochet at the 88th minute at the Stadio Tardini for their first victory in a month.

“We had over 25 attempts on goal today, but we were clear today, the team knew how important the game was. Even if all matches are worth three points, some mean more than others,” the coach told Sky Sport Italia.

Suso: 'Giampaolo's Milan no team'

Suso admits he was “angry I didn’t see a team” when Marco Giampaolo coached Milan, whereas Stefano Pioli reminds him more of Gennaro Gattuso.

Milan decided to part with Gattuso after they finished just outside the Champions League places last season, but the appointment of Giampaolo didn’t go down as planned.

The former Sampdoria coach was axed after only seven games of the 2019-20 campaign and has since been replaced by ex-Fiorentina and Inter boss Pioli.

Napoli are a void of inspiration

Napoli and Carlo Ancelotti seem to be completely uninspired, writes Emmet Gates, wasting the quality Milan would love to be able to rely on.

Watching last night’s entertaining but low-quality game between Milan and Napoli, one couldn’t help but notice each side had what the other lacked.

It’s not exactly news to anyone that even casually follows Serie A that Milan and Napoli went into this match under their own personal clouds of self-destruction. Their respective issues are well known and won’t be repeated again here, but what was striking was the difference in effort.

Pioli: 'Right Milan performance'

Stefano Pioli maintains Milan “could’ve won” their 1-1 draw with Napoli. “I liked the performances recently and we only narrowly missed out on the result.”

Jack Bonventura cancelled out a Hirving Lozano opener at San Siro, which at least ended a run of two consecutive defeats.

Pioli: 'Ibrahimovic is a champion'

Milan boss Stefano Pioli admits Zlatan Ibrahimovic is "a great champion" but insists Mattia Caldara is still "weeks" away from returning.

Pioli was speaking at a press conference ahead of the clash with Napoli at San Siro on Saturday night, where he was asked about Milan's pursuit of Ibrahimovic.

The veteran striker has already played for the Rossoneri, winning a Scudetto with them in 2011.

"[Zlatan] Ibrahimovic is a great champion, but I have to think about the table," he warned.

Milan & Napoli argue who's worst

Milan host Napoli in the pick of Week 13’s Serie A fixtures, but the stats are bleaker than ever going into the encounter.

With Milan 14th in Serie A on 13 points and Napoli in seventh with 19 points, these two clubs haven’t had a worse combined tally after 12 games since the latter bounced back from Serie B in 2007.

The Rossoneri come into the match without a win from their last four matches against Napoli at San Siro, and that record is backed up by three losses in five home fixtures this season.

Bonera: 'No patience at Milan'

Milan assistant manager Daniele Bonera feels Marco Giampaolo “didn’t get the time he needed” and discussed changes under Stefano Pioli.

The former defender returned to Milanello as an assistant manager in June, going back to the club where he was a defender from 2006 to 2015.

This means he worked under both Giampaolo and his replacement Pioli during this tempestuous campaign.
