Ribery: 'Happy Fiorentina keeping Iachini'

Franck Ribery is ‘happy’ that Fiorentina have confirmed coach Beppe Iachini for next season, but ‘we need to improve things and bring in new players.’

The World Cup winner spoke to TGR Rai Toscana at a bar where he has breakfast every morning, assuring the burglary scare will not push him away from the club or city.

“Florence is a beautiful city that I really like. I’m happy here and that’s important to me,” said Ribery.

Barone 'happy' to keep Iachini

Fiorentina CEO Joe Barone didn’t get elected to enter the Lega Serie A board today but was ‘happy with the choice’ to keep Beppe Iachini in charge of the Viola for 2020-21.

The Viola director wanted to enter the Lega board today but didn’t collect the 14 votes needed during the Assembly at Hilton in Milan.

“Barone is a splendid novelty for Serie A, like the President [Rocco] Commisso,” Lega chief Paolo Dal Pino said according to FiorentinaNews.

Official: Viola confirm Iachini for 2020-21

Fiorentina have officially announced Beppe Iachini as their coach for 2020-21. ‘I’m really happy, the Viola are something special to me.’

Iachini replaced Vincenzo Montella, who was sacked after a 4-1 defeat to Roma in December and initially signed a contact until the end of the 2019-20 season.

Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso wrote a press release to confirm the decision to extend Iachini’s stay at the Artemio Franchi.

Iachini: 'Federico is wonderful'

Fiorentina coach Beppe Iachini has praised hat-trick hero Federico Chiesa and said President Rocco Commisso ‘is happy with the work we have done’.

Chiesa scored his first Serie A hat-trick in the thumping 4-0 win over Bologna on Wednesday and Iachini was quick to applaud the Italy international.

Di Francesco favourite for Fiorentina

Eusebio Di Francesco is reportedly in talks to take over as the coach of Fiorentina next season, having turned down Alaves.

According to Sportitalia, the former Sassuolo, Roma and Sampdoria boss has chosen the Viola as his favoured next destination.

The feeling is believed to be mutual, with Di Francesco emerging as the front-runner, especially as ex-Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi does not have the necessary credentials to take a Serie A coaching role.

Iachini: 'Play should've stopped before pen'

Fiorentina coach Beppe Iachini was not happy with referee Daniele Chiffi after the 2-1 defeat to Roma and claimed the play ‘should have already been stopped’ before the decisive penalty.

The Viola left the Olimpico empty handed and sit 12th in the League after two penalties handed the Giallorossi all the spoils on Sunday.

Aquilani takes charge of Viola's reserves

Fiorentina have officially announced that Alberto Aquilani will be the new reserves coach for the upcoming 2020-21 season.

The former midfielder played at the Artemio Franchi between 2012 to 2015 and appeared 81 times, contributing 13 goals for the Viola.

Aquilani came through the youth ranks at Roma and managed to win back-to-back Coppa Italia trophies with the Giallorossi - in 2006-07 and 2007-08.
