Atalanta ask Villa for Gollini

Atalanta send Marco Sportiello to Fiorentina and are in advanced talks to take Pierluigi Gollini from Aston Villa.

It is widely reported this evening that Sportiello has agreed an 18-month loan in Florence.

The goalkeeper is expected to undergo his medical tomorrow or on Friday.

According to Sky Sport Italia, his replacement will likely be Gollini, who is in advanced negotiations to leave Aston Villa on loan.

Sportiello picks Fiorentina

Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Sportiello is expected to have a medical with Fiorentina tomorrow or Friday, as he turns down Watford.

The shot-stopper had been considering several proposals during the January transfer window.

While Walter Mazzarri’s Watford were very interested in his services, Sky Sport Italia, Mediaset Premium and Sportitalia are all confident a deal has been struck with Fiorentina.

Sportiello is due to be in Florence for a medical tomorrow or Friday.

It has been confirmed that Perin will miss the remainder of the season after he tore his ACL just minutes into the Grifone’s 1-0 defeat to Roma this weekend.

Agent: Napoli want Sportiello

Marco Sportiello’s agent confirms Napoli talks, but he’d stay with Atalanta on loan.

The Partenopei have been linked with the goalkeeper all summer, with initial suggestions that he’d be a backup for Pepe Reina.

However, it now appears that the 24-year-old would stay in Bergamo for the season, if a deal can be done.

“Napoli are trying to take Marco right now,” Giuseppe Riso told TuttoNapoli.

“If the deal goes through, the Azzurri will leave the lad at Atalanta on loan. We're working.”
