What to expect from the new Roma

New Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini has revealed the club's plans for the future under Thomas Di Benedetto and discussed the transfer market.

Sabatini held a Press conference earlier today in which he explained what direction the club would be taking once American businessman Di Benedetto officially takes control of the outfit.

"I don't like to talk about projects as they don't exist in football. All that exists is working on a daily basis," the official noted.

Rossi expected to quit Palermo

Delio Rossi is likely to leave Palermo at the end of the season, says former Rosanero sporting director Walter Sabatini.

President Maurizio Zamparini has said that he will hold talks with the tactician at the end of the season over his future.

Although Zamparini may want Rossi to remain, Sabatini thinks the latter will walk away after being sacked and recalled this term.

"I think there is little chance in Rossi staying," Sabatini, who is expected to work for the new Roma, told ReteRete24. "A cycle has come to the end.

Walter Sabatini has confirmed he is in negotiations to be sporting director of Thomas Di Benedetto's Roma.

Rossi-Sabatini at Sampdoria?

Sampdoria will start a new era at the club next season with the summer arrivals of boss Delio Rossi and sporting director Walter Sabatini, reports suggest.

Doria started this term in the Champions League with Domenico Di Carlo at the helm of a squad that included Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini.

However, they were quickly disposed of in Europe, their two best players left in January and Di Carlo was axed earlier this month.

The club now find themselves just three points above the relegation zone having hired Alberto Cavasin recently.

Zampa prompted Sabatini to quit

Maurizio Zamparini's repeated criticism of Palermo Coach Delio Rossi is what prompted the club's director of sport Walter Sabatini to hand in his resignation.

Sabatini's decision to quit the Rosanero was put down to 'strictly personal reasons' in a statement released by the club yesterday morning.

However, it appears that he had grown frustrated with Zamparini's treatment of Rossi, the man he appointed in November last year.
