Napoli approach for Denayer

Reports in Belgium claim that Napoli, Atletico Madrid and Arsenal are interested in Olympique Lyonnais and Belgium defender Jason Denayer.

The asking price for the centre-back is believed to be circa €30m.

According to both Nieuwsblad and Het Laatste Nieuws, Napoli are the favourites to secure his signature and see him as an ideal replacement for Kalidou Koulibaly.

It’s widely reported Koulibaly is on the verge of a move to Manchester City for €70m plus bonuses.

Juventus prepare Aouar bid

Juventus are preparing their first formal offer to Olympique Lyonnais for midfielder Houssem Aouar, claim reports in France.

The 22-year-old talent is wanted by numerous clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester City, but Juve have been named as the favourites.

According to Footmercato, an official bid will be made by Juventus over the next few days.

However, Lyon are asking for €60m and it is very unlikely the Bianconeri will offer that much.

Garcia: 'Italian fitness coach key for Lyon'

Lyon coach Rudi Garcia credited their ‘Italian fitness coach’ Paolo Rongoni for victories over Juventus and Manchester City in the Champions League.

The pair met when Garcia was in charge of Roma in 2014-15, following him to Olympique Marseille from 2016-19 and then Lyon in October last year.

Olympique Lyonnais are the shock Champions League semi-finalists after beating Juve and Manchester City, but Garcia tipped his hat to Rongoni during his post-match interview with Sky Sport Italia.

Failure is a fine line

The Champions League has again proved itself to be unpredictable and perhaps Juventus can re-evaluate the ‘failure’ tag when compared with Manchester City, writes Susy Campanale.

Maurizio Sarri was much-maligned for saying Juventus directors would be ‘amateurs’ to judge him on one Champions League match, but he was ultimately right. The decision to sack him had already been made, regardless of the result with Lyon. That’s just as well, because the 3-1 victory over Manchester City proved Juve were hardly the only victims of Rudi Garcia’s ruthless side.

Juve's Champions League curse continues

Juventus failed in Europe yet again, this time eliminated by a tactically-astute Lyon, but Elio Salerno saw problems that extend far beyond just Maurizio Sarri.

It was another night of misery in the Champions League for Juventus, as The Old Lady were again sent packing in Europe’s elite football competition. The feeling of disappointment will be overwhelming for Juventini, but what will perhaps hurt the most is that this latest elimination is not at all surprising.

Agnelli: 'Juve will evaluate everything'

Juventus President Andrea Agnelli backed his directors, coach Maurizio Sarri and Cristiano Ronaldo, but ‘the Champions League has to be an objective and we’ll take a few days to evaluate everything.’

The Bianconeri crashed out of the Champions League in the Round of 16, losing on away goals after a 2-2 aggregate draw with Olympique Lyonnais, a side that finished seventh in Ligue 1 this term.

Maurizio Sarri surprisingly said he ‘expected less’ from Juventus after their Champions League exit to Lyon. ‘I thought we put in a great performance this evening.’

Dybala in Juventus squad for Lyon

Paulo Dybala is in the Juventus squad to face Lyon this evening, but it’ll be very surprising if he starts the Champions League game.

The first leg ended 1-0 to Lyon in France back in February and the Round of 16 decider kicks off in Turin tonight at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

Dybala did take part in some of the training session yesterday, but not in the full squad routine.
