Man Utd and Everton eye Milik

Manchester United and Everton have joined Tottenham Hotspur in their pursuit of Napoli outcast Arkadiusz Milik.

The striker has been excluded from the squad because he refused to sign a new contract, while a deal with Roma fell through at the last minute.

Tottenham had therefore become the new favourites for the Poland international centre-forward.

However, now the Daily Express claim Manchester United and Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton have approached Napoli to sign Milik.

Dzeko better off staying at Roma

Perhaps it’s time Edin Dzeko accepts his fate is to remain at Roma and Lee Bushe believes it’s a better outcome for all concerned.

One lesson that footballers tend to learn the hard way is that the grass isn’t necessarily always greener on the other side. Take Alexis Sanchez, for example. In January 2018, he left Arsenal - where he was the star of the show and one of the Premier League’s best players - for Manchester United, where his stock dramatically decreased. Sanchez, now at Inter, spoke recently of how he regretted leaving Arsenal as soon as he started training at Carrington.

With the Roma move seemingly abandoned, Napoli try to sell Arkadiusz Milik to Premier League clubs, above all Tottenham Hotspur.

The striker was all set to join Roma on loan with obligation to buy for €18m plus up to €7m in bonuses.

However, he failed to agree the finer points of his exit from Napoli, specifically some details over image rights, outstanding wages and a fine over the November 2019 mutiny.

Morata to Juventus imminent

Multiple reports in Italy and Spain suggest Luis Suarez will join Atletico Madrid, freeing Alvaro Morata for Juventus on loan with option to buy, as Arkadiusz Milik stalls Edin Dzeko.

The transfer merry-go-round of strikers is not going quite the way it was meant to only a few days ago, when Dzeko was heading to Juve for €15m thanks to Milik leaving Napoli for Roma at a cost of €18m plus bonuses.

Milik’s inability to agree personal terms of his exit from Napoli has destroyed that whole chain of events, so Plan B was put into action.
